Enjoyed very much our 4 weeks bonding. Our last stop was at the Univ of Pennsylvania. They say that in a marriage it’s “Give & Take” – Heart2Heart says it’s “Give”! I believe that it’s more of the giving – the unconditional kind of giving without expecting anything in return- if you want your marriage to work. This was a trip where we were really alone – no kids, no parents, not many socials and commitments, so we had a lot of alone time. We did the laundry together ( haha! ) we cooked and washed dishes and the hubby always helped with chores without me asking – he never let me do it alone. I swam for my exercise & therapy and he swam with me instead of his usual gym. He drove me when I needed a ride, took me to the doctor and he watched my tv show with me without complaining. I let him choose the restaurants, I accompanied him to his seminar and whenever he needed company. We are nearly going to celebrate our 25th anniversary yet there’s still a long way ahead of us and it’s a journey that I want to keep with a lot of LOVE so there will have to be a lot of giving – not material things – but unconditional giving from the heart #h2hny #H2HPennsylvania2017#h2hnyc2017 #h2hquotes
EO Dinner at Distrito @distritophl
Distrito is a vibrant celebration of the culture and cuisine of Mexico City with a menu focused on the diverse street foods served in what is known by locals as the Distrito Federal (D.F.). Distrito Tacqueria is our first-floor casual eatery featuring an approachable menu by Chef Jose Garces. Distrito offers a full bar featuring signature margaritas, over 250 tequilas and beer towers festooned with sugar skulls holding over 128 ounces of beer. The second-level dining room is a lively backdrop for Chef Garces’ modern Mexican small plates. Styled in pinks and greens, the restaurant features more than 600 hanging masks of Mexico’s Lucha Libre – and a four seat booth fashioned from an authentic VW Beetle, the official taxi cab of the D.F.
ABOUT CHEF GARCES
Since opening his first restaurant in 2005, Chef Jose Garces has emerged as an enormous talent and one of the nation’s most gifted chefs and restaurateurs. Today, he is the owner and operator of more than a dozen restaurants across the country, plus a thriving event planning division and 40-acre Luna Farm. He is a 2009 winner of the James Beard Foundation’s prestigious “Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic” award and one of only a few chefs in the country to hold the coveted title of Iron Chef. Chef Garces is also the author of two cookbooks, The Latin Road Home (Lake Isle Press, October 2012), a culinary and cultural tour of Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Cuba and Peru, and his stunning first cookbook, Latin Evolution (Lake Isle Press, Fall 2008). ( website) #DistritoPhl #H2HPennsylvania2017#eophilippines #H2HEO There are only 2 Filipinos among 60 attendees. Happy to see racecar driver JP Tuason @jptuason in a different car – Volkswagen at @distritophl He’s funny and reminds me of my cousin Joel.
If you want to learn how to race / drive cars and motorcycles look for JP at @tuasonracing in Clark. Missing wifey Jeanette @chicdriven who didn’t join us and partied instead in NYC #H2HPeople#eophilippines #H2HEO#H2HPennsylvania2017#tuasonracingschool #tuasonracing I’m the only EO spouse in the group of around 60 attendees. I’ll be there as long as I can attend. Farewell dinner at @distritophl with JP @jptuason the hubby @james_de_jesus Joanna ( hi to forum mate Laura @lauraatvmv ) and TT #DistritoPhl #H2HPennsylvania2017#eophilippines #H2HEO
We attended a MyEO Wine lunch at Cowrie Cove @shangrilamactan curated by Ricky Andres @rickyandres2000 It was a 10 course meal by a Spanish Michelin Starred Chef – Chef Daniel Quintero paired with 13 bottles of red wine contributed by each couple who attended plus white wine and champagne before lunch. Each one introduced their bottle and each with a story or reason for bringing it. EO Awesome ! Congratulations Ricky ! #EOPhilippines #H2HEO #H2HWines #shangrilamactan #DanielQuintero #cowriecoveshangrila
Closing Ceremonies and Farewell Dinner of EO ABC Cebu 2017. It was supposed to be in the beachfront but due to bad weather it had to be indoors. We still had a good time with dances, the Sinulog queens parading and ofcourse Arnel Pineda. What an amazing weekend – thank you to the Organizing committee of #EOPhilippines headed by Julie Vergara together with Bubu Andres, Laura Bertotto and Sheila Ramos. What a production ! I’m so sad it’s over Too much fun! Looking forward to the next #H2HEO
I was so happy to be in the same plane as Arnel Pineda @arnelpineda2007
and was surprised to see him on stage as one of the guests of #EOPhilippines! So proud and happy that he shared his heart and soul to EO ABC #ArnelPineda #H2HEO #H2HPeople #h2hproudtobepinoy
He even performed for the closing ceremonies and everyone had so much fun!! WE LOVE YOU ARNEL PINEDA!!!
I knew Davy Liu was going to speak but I didnt know how he really looked until I saw him on stage and realized he was the cowboy dancing at the Clambake haha!! Davy Liu is a cowboy that’s a daydreamer who tells stories through his drawings. He told us a story of how he became what he is today. Truly an inspiration for everyone! I took videos of almost his whole hour talk hoping I could share with you something but as I was trying to compose – it was just too hard because everything he said from beginning til end was nice. So my wish is that all of you who reads this will find a way to either listen to him live telling his story, let your kids join one of his workshops, buy his books or visit his website because you will find something that will surely touch your heart. And after he has touched your heart I’m hoping you will share this story too to your loved ones. #DavyLiu #KenduFilms #EOPhilippines #H2HEO #H2HPeople #H2HQuotes

After walking 2 kilometers in Sinulog, we walked another 2 to get to dinner at Museo Sugbo which was formerly a prison. It was a beautiful venue for a Barrio Fiesta to acquaint the foreigners of EO. We had the whole museum to ourselves and actually dined inside the museum. #EOPhilippines #H2HEO #H2HSinulog #H2HCebu #MuseoSugbo
What an experience to attend Sinulog for the first time and not only as a spectator but to actually walk and be part of the parade with around 2 million people attending. Spectators were wondering who we were haha!! but they were still smiling and some cheering and take photos with the foreigners in our group. What an EO awesome experience! Hanky told me that a Cebuano had told him that it never rains during Sinulog even if the day before it rains. And true enough it didn’t rain and it was perfect and not hot!! It rained at 6pm which was already after the festivities. Pit Senyor! This is how we celebrated in an instagram minute. Thank you #EOPhilippines #Sinulog #sinulog2017 #H2HSinulog #H2HCebu #H2HEO
