Gothia Cup 2007 by Jun Lopez

It has been a year since the Gothia Cup….

Thanks to my Dad for capturing the moments.  I took the photos and he took the video.  Though I use photos to capture moments, a video is the closest you can get to real life.  Not only did he capture it on video, he worked on editing it and coming up with a short film which he produced.  Just like a director, my dad really studies how he will make the film- the effects, the music which he chooses from his favorites,   the sequence of events, the captions, and the overall content of the film.  And I like his style!  I am sure many of you too will.  I wish I could have my Dad with me in every event to capture the moments and make the video.  But obviously, his films are all works of love - it took him a year to finish this video and I can say that it is worth it because aside from the memory of being there last year and witnessing the event, I can watch this film a million times and will always have tears of joy watching a great moment in my son’s life.

It’s a box office hit!  PRICELESS!

Thanks Dad and Mom for even convincing us to go to Gothia - we realized later on that Jaime needed the moral support during the games and hopefully because of that he will always remember that we will always be there for him to support him….anywhere in the world!

Quinto’s Violin Lessons

Several weeks ago, I accompanied my friend Rina to bring her son, Quinto,  to his violin lessons. I was so amazed! I just find the violin so elegant and so classic! And for a child to be playing it amazes me more.  Quinto was so proud to show off his violin skills to me.

They say that it is important that a child learns atleast one musical instrument.quinto-violin-book1.jpgquinto-violin-book2.jpg

Teacher Loy:  ”That’s Music!  You don’t see anything, You hear it, You feel it, you follow.  You make nice music!”

Tutoring Club of the Philippines

We recently enrolled Jaime and Javier at Tutoring Club.  They were the ones who actually kept nagging us about joining the program because all their cousins went through the program as well.

The centers are conveniently located beside residential areas which makes it more accessible to the children.  We like the place very much as it is conducive to studying.

It is also important to us that the program is a worldwide program that is tried and tested.  Their materials are of international standards.

We had a warm reception from Maribeth Santos who heads the Pasong Tamo branch.  We are confident that our children are in good hands.  She works closely with us and makes sure that the children will really benefit from the program.  tutoring-club-book6.jpgtutoring-club0007.jpg

We started with an assessment for the 3 subjects - Reading, Math and Writing.  From there, they told us at what level our children are and what areas need improvement.  Tutoring Club has a GUARANTEE

 ourguarantee.gif

“Guaranteed to improve academic performance in less time and at a lower cost than any other program.”

James particularly liked the penants on the walls.  He wants our sons to aim and study hard so they can get into the best colleges. Maribeth said that she tried looking for UP and Ateneo penants but there were none or else she would have put them up too.

We are happy to know that many friends send their children here too…tutoring-club-book5.jpg

As parents, we and I am sure all the other parents out there, only hope to give the BEST education to our kids.  And we will do whatever we can to make sure they prepare themselves for their future.  Which is why, we welcome centers and programs like these which can supplement the schooling of our kids.

We are so happy that our kids enjoy Tutoring Club, they are even the ones forcing us to let them take the program and had us make it two hour sessions instead of one hour a day.

Manila Cup Football Festival

The Manila Soccer Academy ( MSA ) had their culminating activity to end this year’s first module for the summer.  There will be a new module which starts June 9 to August 1.

Maxi and Maricel organize and head MSA.  They are there everyday to supervise the classes.

Stefano is the son of Maxi and Maricel and the classmate of Jaime.  This kid always amazes me.  That day he was acting as coach for Javier’s team.  I was listening to him and he was telling the kids not to blame the goalie and that everyone has to work as a team.

My First Seven Years

My good friend, Rina, had a great idea for her son’s seventh birthday.  Heart2Heart would like to share the idea with you.

Rina compiled into a book ( by Picture Books ) some of the art works of Quinto from his first seven years and gave it to his family and close friends.  I am fortunate to have received one and I thought it was a beautiful gift to share and it reflects the thoughts and the growing years of Quinto expressed through art.

Happy 7th Birthday Quinto!

Sharing with you the pages of Quinto’s book….
