Dollhouse

I was so amazed when my niece, Mischka sent me photos of the dollhouse Santa Claus gave her for Christmas!! My sister had the dollhouse made by William, the houseboy of my Mom and she just bought the furniture and accessories in the toy department at Rustan’s!  What a cool dollhouse! :-)

Rainbow

Around 10 years ago, Mommy Carmeling and I bought a Rainbow vacuum cleanerrainbowabout.jpg

It was half the price back then and Mom and I split the cost and shared it :-)   And after ten years, our Rainbow is still very much alive and working and in good condition.

dsc_6987.jpg

The Rainbow resembles the Star Wars robot R2D2 and it follows you around the house while cleaning :-)

r2d2.jpg

I received a Christmas letter and gift certificate from Rainbow and I was happy to accept a visit to check my Rainbow and have my staff retrained on how to use it.  What a nice way to start the year with everything new and clean!

rainbow0001.jpg

I immediately called them when the new year started and was happy to see the salesman who sold it to me, Chito!  They just did not send any salesman, they sent Chito who I did not recognize as he lost a lot of weight from ten years ago.  Chito has been selling Rainbow vacuums for 25 years ( since it started in the Philippines ) and has sold around 10,000 units already. WOW!

dsc_6990.JPG

He sat and started showing me everything again.  I realized that I have taken my Rainbow for granted and just left it and assumed that the household help have been using it to clean the house.

 dsc_6991.JPG

The vacuum uses water and he will show you how clear water

dsc_6993.JPG

becomes hazy and you will see all the dust that comes from your house- the floor, curtains, mattress, pillows etc.  This photo was the first vacuuming we did for the floor in ten seconds only

dsc_6994.JPG

Vacuumed the pillow for around 10 seconds just to demonstrate to my household staff

dsc_6999.JPG

And already plenty dust.  Though the pillows are regularly rainbowed according to my staff, Adet

dsc_7001.JPGdsc_7002.JPGdsc_7004.JPG

The most dust was from the curtains.  This was just one side of the curtains.  If that is not vacuumed, then that goes to the air and we breath it

dsc_7007.JPG

There are different brushes for different uses.

There are companies that offer their services to clean your mattresses for dust mites- they just use a rainbow.  Here are the dustmites in your mattresses, pillows, sofas, YIKES! :-)

dustmit3a.jpg dustmite2.jpg

Why not have your own Rainbow and just do it yourself? Once every three months will be good enough.

 dsc_7006.JPG

I am now going to regularly check on the staff and make sure they Rainbow the house regularly and properly.

For those that do not own one yet, It’s about time you have a Rainbow.  Heart2Heart highly recommends the Rainbow Vaccum.  Ten years ago, I was pregnant when Chito came over and right there and then I bought one because I wanted my house to be clean for all of us especially my new baby at that time.  I have friends who have Rainbows too and are very happy.  One of my friends has two and keeps one per floor and makes sure they Rainbow her house everyday instead of using a broom.

Call Chito and give him a chance to demonstrate and show you. There is no cost for this and no commitments. I told him to expect calls from Heart2Heart friends :-)

It is one of the best investments I have made for me and my family.

Toilets in Japan

Japan is the land of great inventions.  You see so many things you do not see anywhere else.  They make something for everything, for every use and for every need.  One of them are toilets :-)  They have so many kinds all over the place.

In hotels, some of them even have a heating function so when you sit, the seat is warm and not cold

p1150019.JPGtoiletjapan.JPG

This one, Krie and I really like from Gonpachi restaurant ( Gonpachi January 5, 2010 ). Since it is a public toilet, we are happy that we can just step on the button on the floor to flush the toilet.  It is more sanitary than using your hands to flush or putting up your legs up high just to flush it with your foot :-)  I wish all public toilets all over the world were like this

img_0059.jpgimg_0061.JPGimg_0060.JPG

This is another great toilet from Rosetta restaurant.  Krie showed it to me too. When you flush the toilet, water comes out of the faucet :-)  Never seen this ever before

Gift from Leslie’s Clover Chips

Every year, we look forward to receiving our gift from Bobby and Birang!  We know it is always something from their factory and each year it is packaged differently or the contents change.  Though our family loves Leslie’s products and we buy them regularly, nothing tastes better when it is given to you :-) and when it is from the owner themselves.  My Grandmother always told us to patronize our own and to give gifts from our company…and Bobby and Birang does the same always!

This year, I found the packaging really amusing! Even my kids were wondering how they did it…. It is 3 large packs of Clover Chips UNCUT so it is one long packaging full of clover chips!  The machine did not cut it..instead it came out as one long Clover chips bag!!! We are all amused with it, we do not want to open it and eat it :-) Heart2Heart loves Leslie’s Clover chips! Thanks Bobby and Birang!

Whip it Cream dispensers

Notice the cream dispenser in Chef Brian Mc Kenna’s hand?

 66485.jpg

It’s one of the essential tools for his type of gourmet cooking because of the espumas, foams, and flavored air involved. It’s not just for coffee and dessert!

Every high end hotel and restaurant is now seeing dispensers as an essential piece of equipment as they can do things you cannot do with a traditional pastry piping bag.

image004whipit.jpg

These highly durable Swiss made whipped cream dispensers instantly transform cream into a whipped topping.  Use it for coffee, cakes, waffles, fresh fruits.  Considered as the highest quality of whipped cream dispenser in the market by professionals and experts.  Both the head and the bottle of the cream dispenser are made of anodized aluminum without being welded.  Unlike welded steel bottles, this one will not oxidize.

Fifty years of Swiss craftmanship and technology of whipped cream dispenser making is perfected with this model.  It comes with two decorating tips for beautiful whipped cream.

Gadget for your Digital Camera

If you think Heart2Heart likes taking photos, I know of someone who really likes taking many many photos….but mostly of her favorite subject…THE LOVE OF HER LIFE… Gil!  :-)  and of course all their travels together.  I was always amazed at her photos because she and Gil were always in them.  Normally if you are only two- either one has to be taking the photo unless a kind stranger offers to take the photo.  Apparently, she has this gadget that she uses that takes their photo!! If you will notice, one of her arms is always extended  :-)

She was so sweet…and she shared her favorite gadget with me. Thanks Christine!!!

 scan0004.jpg

This was several months back when she gave it to me but I did not feature it yet because I did not know where it was available and Heart2Heart readers might ask where

p1120020.JPGp1120022.JPG

You simply attach it to your digital camera like this:

But I was so happy to stumble into it in Japan Home Center for P 88.00.  They have different kinds.  I am sure this gadget will be found in more stores soon as I am sure it is becoming a popular tool
