The GG Marmont is a design inspired by a buckle that was used by Gucci in the Seventies. It’s distinctive GG detail is one of the House’s strongest and most recognisable symbols. But though the roots of this bag lie in the House archive, the twenty-first century version of the GG Marmont is decidedly synonymous with the aesthetic world of Creative Director Alessandro Michele.
In this new version of the GG Marmont the GG motif appears as the main ornament. The new handbag is an evolution of the original style, featuring softer construction. The models of GG Marmont range from shoulder bags in three sizes to tote bags and camera cases. All come with brass chain shoulder straps featuring a leather detail. And all combine functionality with femininity.Materials used are calf leather, velvet and crocodile.
