By George Yulo

Thank you David for sharing with us your new home!

I thought I was going to a Japanese Temple when I saw David’s house!  It is a huge and tall house and of course very beautiful!  Designed by George Yulo who also did Pepato.  There were many details in the house that were very prominent - the ceilings, the doors and the walls that had so much detail and layers.

David’s house was three years in the making and he told me it will be another year for him to finish the interiors and accessorize it.   So, this is just a sneak preview and hopefully there will be a part 2 …..

A Gift That Will Inspire Someone to Volunteer!

Thanks to Rookie and Ana for giving us this beautiful book!!  It is a great gift and very inspiring indeed!  Thanks also to Nicole Olbes-Fandino, Assistant Treasurer of Hands on Manila, for sending me the information.

It is amazing to read the experience of people who have volunteered to help different organizations and foundations.  How it has affected their life and how it can make a difference in many other people’s lives.  And can you believe that even a dog can volunteer and make a difference?  Doctor Una is a dog, a labrador, who volunteers to cheer up children in hospitals.  Amazing! And the writing of Butch Jimenez was so very true about being a great leader and he put it so well.  Sharing part of what he wrote…sc0010bbb6.jpg sc0010a23b.jpg

Everyone else had many beautiful things to say and share.  Get a copy of this book, read it and share it to as many people as you can.  It costs P 250.00 but the effect will be priceless because it will make a difference!

Thanks to Hands on Manila Foundation for doing what you do and for giving everyone a chance to help and volunteer their time to help make this world a better place!

Malunggay Pesto

Thanks to T. Manfred and T. Chinggay for this Malunggay pesto!  What a great idea to use malunggay for pesto.

I remember my feature on Heart Warmers ( August 1, 2008 ) where my friend, Denise, supports

the Trees for Life www.treesforlife.org tfl-logo-home.png

Project Moringa Tree in creating awareness on the benefits of the Moringa tree (Malunggay)

 T. Chinggay also told me that for Christmas, she always makes it a point to help outreach, livelihood programs and charitable organizations. What a nice gesture!

Last Chukker

Heart2Heart is so happy that the Last Chukker is finally opened!  And it was perfect because the “Gumamelas”  wanted to get together since Triccie had just arrived from SF.  As usual the first choice of venue is Polo Club where we always meet and where we used to hang out during our highschool days.  So I suggested we go to the Last Chukker as it had just opened.  It was a perfect venue and we all enjoyed the food. Everything was YUMMY!  The ambience is so nice and cozy!!  I could just hang out there all day and make kuwento with the girls!

I can’t wait to eat there again!!

If you are not a member of Polo Club, make sure you get invited by a friend who is a member :-)

Wood fired potato wedges - Finally a healthy way of eating potatoes!  It is like french fries but it’s not because it is not fried.  And it is like a baked potato inside.  YUMMY!! The waiter warned us that this would take around 20 minutes, so order this way in advance so you can eat it together with your main.

last-chukker-29.jpg

And I just had to feature the salt and pepper grinder!!  Heart2Heart loves those!!  Good thing Ton asked for it.  She was happily grinding away! :-) And of course the ballerina orders a salad.
