These two chocolates are sooooo yummy. It bothers me that it is so hard to find even in the major cities of the world. Luflee has a unique texture and the inside is a light airy filling and me and my sister discovered it in Spain. Ovomaltine is exactly like the chocolate milk Ovaltine but in a chocolate bar and I discovered it in Switzerland. So other than those places, it is very hard to find them. Luflee you can order online at Germandeli.com which is an American based website, so they only deliver to US addresses. The fact that you cannot get them often makes you crave for it even more!!! If not for my sister in law, Tina, we would not have the luxury of eating these yummy chocolates. Don’t ask me where she finds them…..
Michele introduced Vincenzo Paini, an Italian Chef, to her friends and family by sampling around 12 healthy Italian dishes at her beautiful home. Everything was delicious!! There will be a series of cooking and wine tasting classes conducted by Vincenzo with the help of Michele. Thanks to Michele for making Vincenzo feel at home in our country and for helping him kickstart his cooking classes.

Ching Camara and a group of parents from the Manila Waldorf School originally organized the camp for their kids who are 12-18 years old because they play instruments -guitar and violin- but are not necessarily interested in classical music. They wanted to keep their kids interested in playing their instruments. So, they collaborated with a group of teachers headed by Butch Roxas ( brother of Ching ) from the UST Conservatory of Music. Band Camp was formed where the kids can play some classical pieces in different genres. They opened the camp to other kids as they wanted to get 30 children to make about 2 or 3 bands or ensembles.
There were free concerts every night for parents and relatives to come, and they invited other musicians to play and to give the kids master classes - like Blue Rats, Cowboy, Joey Puyat, Wally Gonzales, etc. -to expose the kids to how the musicians put the music together.
It is the first camp of its kind in the country. Jaime was the youngest in the camp and was truly a beginner but he really enjoyed bonding with the kids and now he has something to look forward to which is improving his guitar skills so he can be as good as the guys in camp and he can one day join a band to perform.

After constant nagging, we took Javs to Speedzone to “go kart.” We took him at night to avoid the summer heat and it was perfect because he had the race track all to himself. The smallest race suit they had was a bit big for him but he managed.

| My mission this year is to organize my things. I have been going to stores and looking at what items are available and have bought some already and started putting things in containers. I am obsessed with plastic containers and organizers… that whenever I see them in a store, I get so excited. Make Room is my first stop and if I can’t find them in Make Room,I go to Ace Hardware or Japan Home Center where everything is either P 55 or P 88.I am starting by disposing 80% of all the things that are stored that i do not need to make my task easier. As my cousin would say “keep it simple. if i don’t even remember an item or have not used it in more than two years or more, then, away it goes! we are lucky to live in a country where charities take almost everything, and, i try to spring clean often. one man’s trash is truly one man’s treasure, even a pair of pants or shoes is so treasured in a country such as ours.” I have been taking my time and getting advice from friends and family to show me how they organize their homes. I actually invited myself over to my cousin’s apartment because I wanted her to show me how she organizes her things and this is what I learned from her. See how she organized her place and her valuable advice. Getting organized will totally depend on one’s lifestyle so each one will have his/her own style as to which organizer to buy. I am finding out that it is not just a matter of buying the organizer but having a system as well as to how and where you will eventually put everything. If all fails and I cannot figure out a system to get organized, I might give Kathleen Ong a call, She is a Professional Organizer and makes a living organizing people’s spaces. |
