My Mom always drags me with her to Salcedo Market ( Window Shopping at the Salcedo Market March 22, 2010) and of course she is the most beautiful one there all dressed up for the occasion with her hat and all which everyone was looking at 🙂 Good thing she plays along as the mom of Heart2Heart and lets me take her photo 🙂
I don’t know if I just miss these things when I am there window shopping, but these were some things that caught my attention that trip
reminds me of my brother who likes eating these
Mom’s friend and I do not think we know his name, we know him as the Tapang Usa guy and Mom always gets something from him even when he is at the American Women’s bazaar
I forgot to take a photo of his food stuff but we bought something new from him – his chicken longganisa which mom cooked for breakfast after the market- YUMMY!!
My friend, Randy, from Something Different, now has a raisin bread!!!
Kasbah, the beautiful Morroccan restaurant beside Discovery Shores in Boracay, now at Salcedo market. I heard it was their first day
WOW!!! Imported cherries!! Reminds me of my Mother in Law who loves these and the whole de Jesus clan as well
I hardly see this cherry! YUMMY!!
We bumped into Des who Mom also loves!
Des has her stall there with all the yummy food she cooks being a true Capampangan
This is my favorite from Des!! Chicken ala king!!! The shell is also so good!!
and Mom loves this and claims that Des makes the BEST TOCINO DEL CIELO! You have to try it!! So authentic and so yummy!!
Other sightings…
Wow! Look at that banana turon!
Squash flower for only P 40.00 a bundle!
And the last thing we saw and Mom bought was this live Lapu Lapu swimming in the cooler – Mom bought some and took even the cooler! 🙂

Wow I love your photos…. I have been to salcedo market twice already and I enjoy the food and just going around the booths. I did not see the chicken ala king. It looks so yummy. I will try it the next time I go there. Please continue blogging. I truly enjoy reading/viewing it.
P.S. By the way may I know what camera did you use? Thanks. God Bless you and your family!
great post on Salcedo Market. nice to see new vendors, more food pickings to look forward to on my next trip to manila for sure.
couldn’t help noticing the buco sherbet. i miss this alot! my aunt used to order this (not sure if its from the same vendor though) for our family get-togethers at my grandparent’s home in Tarlac City. the banana turon looks so scrumptious too!
Your Mom has always had that sense of the moment! Its so nice to be with her because
“ambience” is second nature to her. She carries it with aplomb, wihout
self-consciousness!
So cushy….as your generation says it!
