Thanks to Ginge for arranging a lunch for Rina!  Ginge always introduces us to good Filipino homemade dishes and restaurants.

She brought us to Recipes which has been opened for a long time already but this is my first time and I LOVED IT!!! Of course aside from the food, we can never get enough of the stories and great company of Ginge!  We hardly see her but when we do, she has plenty to tell!  We enjoy so much and love her!  🙂 Thanks to my bestfriend Rina for introducing me to her

We were so happy that Doc Arnold stopped by to say hello!  Doc is really the friend of Rina since College in Ateneo.  He took care of her as she was new from the province…always like a big brother.  So, we love Arnold too!  🙂

Lavosh

By | Yummy! | No Comments

I have been wanting to try this interesting bread which I see at the Salcedo Market..finally I did. YUMMY!

p1070519.JPG

 From Ana

Lavosh is an Armenian flatbread… Baked, not fried… I add herbs and seasonings. Flavors vary depending on what’s available, as we use home grown herbs as much as possible. Chili, ginger with black sesame, rosemary, dill, oregano, sesame, basil.

You can eat it alone or with a dip. Good alternative to chips!

Or as a wrap:

Sprinkle a cracker on both sides with water and wrap in a clean, damp kitchen towel. After about 20 minutes or more, bend one corner, if it cracks, it’s not ready. If it’s pliable, you can spread with stuff and roll.

Like cream cheese and smoked salmon. Or avocado and shrimp and alfalfa.

Whatever you want.

P115.00 per bag of 8 pieces [all one flavor only]

Keeps well in an airtight container in the refrigerator. If for some reason it gets soft, just stick it in the oven and it’ll crisp up again.

A few months ago, Heart2Heart featured Planet Sports in Power Plant Mall which was done by our good friend Gil.  Heart2Heart is even more proud now to feature Gil and the many works he has done.  From homes and condos to restaurants, retail stores and showrooms.  He even designs furniture now which he exports internationally.  Gil is so talented and very enterprising.  We have see his style evolve through the years and side from acquiring the artistic talent that runs in the family, Gil has developed his own style.  We have worked with him a few times and aside from being our good friend, we enjoy working with him because he is very flexible, we are very comfortable with him and he can work around your budget yet come out with a beautiful end result.

More power to you Gil!

Elbert’s Cheesesteak Sandwiches

By | Foodie | 5 Comments

Two weeks ago we tried Elbert’s Cheesesteak at Power Plant Mall.  Many people were already calling me asking me about it and many have tried it already before Heart2Heart so I know this is delayed already for many.   So for those who have not tried it yet, come on over and try them!! YUMMY!!! More power to you Elbert!!!!

dsc_2546.JPG

Of course Elbert was there!  At the same time we were there, someone had ordered 75 sandwiches for take out so they were really busy!

 elberts-cheesesteak-3.jpg

A very simple menu.  I hope that next time we can create our own cheesesteak and choose our fillings.  I will definitely have a four cheese with lots of onions!  🙂

French products and other new discoveries at Rustan’s Supermarket

By | What's New at Rustan's | 12 Comments

This is my best discovery for the year! Mr. Heart2Heart is so picky yet when he tells me to buy something for him, it is so vague.  He tells me to buy him Muesli… hmmm…okay, so I buy him muesli only to find out it rots in the kitchen because he does not eat it.  But when I saw this at Rustan’s, immediately for some reason, I knew he would like it.  I normally buy one to try first but this time I was so confident and had a strong feeling he would like it so I bought two.  HE LOVES IT!   He eats it everyday for breakfast! That chocolate is a plus factor in this muesli…

 p1070320a.JPG

They also have it with fruits!

p1070433.JPG

The muesli is from France, I noticed many new things from France in Rustan’s nowadays… there is even a freezer dedicated to French products…. still need to try some of them…

p1070627.JPG

Ice cream and french fries!

p1070625.JPG    p1070631.JPG

Hmmm.. I am eyeing that lemon sherbet ( Sorbet Citron )

p1070626.JPGp1070628.JPGp1070701.JPGp1070702.JPGp1070703.JPGp1070704.JPGp1070491.JPG

I saw this a few months ago at San Antonio Expresslane…interesting!!!  We all love freshly squeezed orange juice at home!

p1070360.JPGp1070365.JPG

And the very popular roast chicken is back!!!! The Food to go section disappeared for awhile and now it is back.  And I see many people taking home that whole roast chicken!

dsc_3629.JPGdsc_3630.JPGdsc_3631.JPG

And I just found out that now you can earn more points by buying certain products!!! Just look for this sign! I get excited with DOUBLE POINTS.. now they are offering up to times 10 POINTS!!!

Cozy Spa at Home

By | Spas | 3 Comments

My gradeschool friend, Jin Jin, gave me a call a few days ago and she informed me about her new business which she had just started.  Of course I was very happy for her and even happier to find out it is a SPA business!!  She introduced me to her business and I was able to try out the service. I sometimes call for a home massage, but now I am happy to know that COZY SPA is owned by a friend who I trust and know! I have tried other home massage services and Jin’s has a unique offering

jinjincozyspa.JPG

I find the prices very reasonable! and her services are a little more than an hour. Usually the others offer only by the hour.  That extra 15 minutes is a lot especially when you are relaxing already.  I had the East Meets West and the Sole Food To Go

cozy-spa-at-home.jpg

I am nagging Jin Jin to service the Makati area!  She said that she will accept outside the coverage area as long as you request for two or more treatments in one call. YAY!!!! So, TRY IT OUT NOW!!!

She had this lavender eye mask to cover your eyes while having your massage

dsc_3492.JPG

And her massage oils which she makes herself – Lavender, Eucalyptus and Willow and Chamomille.  I tried the Willow and Chamomille
