Rai Rai Ken Ramen House and Sushi Bar

By | Foodie | 5 Comments

This is one of the favorite restaurant of the kids.  Good thing it is very near the house. Very good japanese food at reasonable prices!

Most of the time we bump into the owner, Vince, who is a gradeschool friend of James.  Vince and his wife, Chelle, got this franchise.  They are very hands on and are often in the restaurant running the day to day operations.

Jaime’s favorite dish – RAMEN!! and it has to be SPICY!

I liked this tofu dish the waitress recommended to me.  It is sizzling, a bit sweet and spicy.  I do not really like spicy but this was bearable.  I ate it with rice. YUMMY!

Ramen places always have gyoza!

Gyudon!! Kids favorite especially Javier.  Better without the egg yolk for health reasons

Tonkatsu Curry!!! YUMMY!!! They do it so well.  It is just like the ones in Japan!!

They also cater at very very reasonable prices! P185.00 per person for Japanese food? Wow!

Ice Skating in Mall Of Asia

By | For kids, Recreation | 7 Comments

dsc_8370.JPGdsc_8391.JPG

After arriving from Japan, my son kept nagging me about going ice skating!  Ever since he ice skated in Tokyo, he was looking for an ice skating ring everywhere we went around Tokyo and Osaka.  Sine we did not find any, I promised him i would take him when we got home 🙂

So, I took him to Mall of Asia!  It was a school day when we went and Javier did not start school yet so we had the place almost all to ourselves!  It was around P 300.00 plus per person for the whole day..unlimited exit and entry – meaning you can skate, eat, skate, go shopping, skate again …..We did not bring any winter outfits but apparently you need to be dressed for the occassion because it was so cold

After 20 minutes, he gave up…. I thought it was a waste of money since we did not even use up an hour.

But then again…….

A day spent with my son…… and maybe it will be something he will remember when he looks back at his childhood…It’s ALL WORTH IT!

Getting Organized Part 2

By | Household Tips | 12 Comments

Heart2Heart has not featured something like this in a long time.  And to think, part 1 was a very popular feature.  (  Getting Organized May 16, 2007  )

We always go to our sister Tina’s house but this time, we got a closer look inside her closets and cabinets!  Heart2Heart ( and I am sure many others ) are inspired by people who are so organized!  We learn a lot from them.  So thank you to Ana and Tina for sharing your household tips!

Pantry – everything lined up and all in its proper place

tina1.JPGtina2.JPGtina3.JPGtina4.JPG

This is Heart2Heart’s favorite section!! Wow!

A section in the kitchen where everything is all stored properly and all labelled

Storage room- looks like an IKEA store to me 🙂

tina9.JPGtina10.JPGtina11.JPGtina12.JPGtina13.JPGtina14.JPGtina16.JPGtina17.JPGtina18.JPG

In one of the rooms, the cabinets are being used to store of all Tina’s wrapping accessories

Each drawer is organized into occassions- all occassion, birthday and christmas

Gift bags

RIBBONS!!!!!!! I love ribbons!! She has so many! Each container is categorized by design- Plain, checkered, printed, dots, etc etc

tina23.JPGtina24.JPGtina25.JPG

This is her son’s closet which she told me was organized by the nanny.  Hmmm… deep inside me I am thinking… the nanny just tries to copy her boss…so I guess she is just like her boss 🙂  She even labels the shelves and segragates the shirts – sports shirts, long sleeves, etc etc
