My friend, Des, makes one of the best BBQs in town. Look at the sauce!! I am sure many of you see her in the Salcedo Market.  I also love her Chicken Ala King! I always tease her that we want to eat in her house and we want her to cook for us!! 🙂 I will wait for that day!

It all started in1972 when Mr. Park Jun began to take interest in the beauty industry.

He pursued a hairdressing course in Korea and joined numerous contests to harness his forte. Finally in 1981, he opened his first salon “Park Jun Beauty Town”, and through his participation in elite hair shows in countries such as Moscow, Beijing, London and Canada, his salon’s fame grew. By 1999, Park Jun already had more than 200 salons in Korea and overseas.

Today, Park Jun’s Beauty Lab brings the latest trends and hairdressing techniques to the Philippines through the skills of its Artistic Director, Kino Lee; Creative Director Maiya Noh; Style Director, Jinny Kim; and our very own Filipino stylist, Aldous Ong.

This 2009 “women’s hair trends will play to the extreme” shares Maiya Noh. “We will see more of the bob, bangs and fringe hairstyles in different lengths and volume.” Jinny Kim also introduces Park Jun’s Beauty Lab’s unique services such as Volume Rebonding, which not only straightens out the hair but gives it volume, and Volume Magic Wave that creates perfect and more natural looking curls. Stylist Al Ong also stresses this season’s highlight on the curls which is also one of the salon’s specialties through Perming. Finally, Kino Lee offers Korea’s edgy hair styles for the stylish Filipino men, “Men can try a decorous or asymmetric cut if they have a natural wave. Something like a twist of the classic school boy cut with a bit of rocker-edge.”

Kino took care of me last week and he is really good!  He was very concerned about my hair and he taught me how to care for my hair.  They had gadgets which I never saw in any salon in our country – instead of the normal steamer they put when you have a hot oil, they have this machine that they put directly on your head and the temperature is just right

La Camera, Melbourne

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

When we arrived in Melbourne, I asked the concierge to recommend a casual Italian place and this is where he took us. Very near the hotel across the bridge in Southbank. We asked the waiter to slice the pizza but he refused.  Hmmm…He said they purposely give you a knife so you can cut the portion that you want 🙂

This was our favorite in the restaurant!
