Around 3 dinners ago, Newton has been insisting we go to Cafe Ysabel to try this burger with foie gras
So finally, we arranged our pre-valentine dinner and Paolo and Trina came all the way from the South and we came all the way from Makati through the traffic to try this burger. Only to find out that it was not available that evening!
But anyway, when we arrived, I felt like I was in highschool when James and I would date and go out for dinner
It was very simple back then with menus that were straight forward…though they have some dishes that are a sort of fusion yet the place was kept as is…which was nice for a change in a world where everyone is becoming modern and fast changing. The place reminded us of our highschool days and it was nice They put us in the smoking area since everything else was reserved…
Its a good thing our waiter moved us to this other area which became our private dining area. We had them put the two tables together
So here we are
Appetizers
Fried Mozzarella in Anchovy Dressing
Bilbao Style Chorizo with Red Peppers and Balsamic glaze
Soups
Sopa Ysabel
Lobster Bisque
Willy’s Truffle Fettucine
Angry Sauce
Four Cheese and Mushroom Risotto – YUMMY!!!
I was the most frustrated of them all for not having the burger Newts wanted me to try- so I got the Burger Suisse instead which I really liked! It had raclette cheese – YUMMY!
Gene’s Argentine Special
Desserts
Peter Pan Pie – one of their bestsellers
Crepes Ysabel
