The Tory Burch Spring 2010 collection takes classic American style and infuses it with a sense of humor and a hint of European edge.
“William Eggleston’s vivid photographs make ordinary things seem extraordinary and embrace the colorful backdrop of America,” says Burch. Our spring collection captures the essence of that classic Americana as seen through his lens and blends it with European accents.”
Utilitarian and sporty elements mixed with charming prints and an eccentric sensibility reflects a new way of looking at American style. Hemlines are short; cigarette pants and casually rolled cargo pants are key. A staple in every woman’s wardrobe – the t-shirt – is reinvented in sequins, crepe de chine and textured knits for a fresh take on the original.
Our garden print and a modern take on gingham are focal points of the collection. Snakeskin printed denim, along with tie-dye and perforated leather adds an unexpected element. Bright splashes of candy colors like turquoise, garden green, fuchsia, yellow and orange are complemented by a palette of neutrals and metallics.
Washed leather handbags and ankle wrap high heeled sandals are standout accessories. Painterly prints are done on snake printed leather, chain mail and canvas handbags. Statement bracelets and necklaces incorporate rope and Navajo detailing for a distinctive look. Metallic snake printed leather and canvas striped belts complete the look.
Our new eyewear collection has a timeless feel that reflects the unique spirit of our brand and is the perfect accent to the spring collection. When designing the eyewear, Tory was greatly influenced by old photos of her parents on trips they took during the 60s, 70s and 80s to places like Greece, Morocco and Istanbul. The collection also takes inspiration from the distinctive style of icons such as James Dean, Peter Fonda, Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway.
In the Philippines, Tory Burch is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center, Makati City.
