Our first stop as soon as we arrived was the new Marina Bay Sands since we were going to have dinner

Singapore City Tour

By | Arts and Culture, Travel | One Comment

Singapore is like the new Hong Kong for Filipinos.  Seems like it is a very popular family destination since Universal Studios opened.  To me, I like it, the place is clean, organized and very disciplined.  Though just like the Philippines, the weather is hot.  It was a good thing we took the city tour on a bus 🙂  We saw the whole city ( which is just as big as Subic Bay ) in half a day and we learned a lot from our tour guide. I always like doing this so I could get a feel of what there is to do and see and then from there choose specific places you would like to visit individually.

Our first stop was the Botanical Gardens.  As they say, Singapore is the Garden City.  A city with many beautiful greens all over

If you love orchids, do not miss this

Over 1000 species and 2,000 hybrids are now found in the Gardens’ collection, with about 600 species and hybrids on display.”

Though the bus was moving fast I took plenty shots of windows 🙂  French windows!! Love the ones with carvings and colors

Indian Town

Our tour guide said that these places are good places to buy electronics at good prices, but of course it’s always good to bargain and still canvass before pricing just like anywhere else

The famous Raffles Hotel, I always see it but have never been inside. One day….

Feng Shui area – the bus took us around 3 times around this fountain for GOOD LUCK 🙂 got a bit dizzy…. and no we did not go to the casino after this 🙂

The Singapore Flyer

This is my favorite view for the moment -the bus took us to the Esplanade and outside it, you can see this view of the new Marina Sands

Clark Quay where you can choose from a wide variety of restaurants and dine and a very active night life with all the bars.  Not one type of cuisine is repeated

Zhang Ziyi Guest Stars At The Salvatore Ferragamo Women’s Fashion Show

By | Fashion, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

Zhang Ziyi, Chinese actress and long-time friend of the Salvatore Ferragamo brand, was a special guest at the women’s Autumn-Winter 2011-2012 fashion show last  February.

For the occasion, the talented actress, known for her roles in acclaimed films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Memoirs of a Geisha, wore a piece from the Autumn-Winter 2011 collection designed by Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti, confirming the brand’s special relationship with the star.

A long-time admirer of Ferragamo designs, Zhang Ziyi has already collaborated with the Italian luxury brand in the past, for important international events like the Cannes Film Festival. Together with Tony Leung, she celebrated with Ferruccio Ferragamo the opening ceremony of the Florentine brand’s 80th Anniversary exhibition in Shanghai in 2008.

Moreover, Zhang Ziyi has been the first Asian celebrity, as a special guest of the Ferragamo family, to be honored to participate to the shoe last rite and the creation of a made-to-measure shoe.

The celebrated Florentine brand believes Zhang Ziyi exudes the timeless elegance of Ferragamo creations and the modern sophistication of Hollywood’s stars in the Golden Age.
