My good friends, Alexis and Bambi took me to this restaurant in Quezon City called Ha Yuan. I am hardly in the area so I am happy when friends bring me or if there is a reason to go in this area

When we got to the restaurant, they knew Alexis and Bambi, especially Bambi who has been a long time customer and knows the owner.  I wish I had met the owner but she was not there that day

Our bill was P 1,700.00 for the three of us and there was so much left, we probably only finished half!  GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY AND REALLY GOOD CHINESE FOOD!!!

I don’t normally eat fresh lumpia, but this was good 🙂

Bambi brought me to this restaurant years ago. The food is really delicious.

    Cheers,
    Louise

  • this place is a classic. used to be on west ave and now relocated to mother ignacia. knowing denizens usually order the maki mi AND fresh lumpia and paired together; the lumpia skillfully eaten with one hand like a hotdog

  • bambi and alexis says:

The branch in West Ave is still opened but with a different owner coz they dissolved the partnership. The owner of this Ha Yuan is the original owner………………….. You can spot the difference in West Ave…….. with the food.

P.S. TIta Bambi, Mom says sorry she could not be there that day! She’s usually there during lunch time to personally see to the kitchen.. Hope to meet you soon!

This brings back fond childhood memories! 🙂 I used to eat here a lot during my high school days. So near my school. Maki mi, fresh lumpia, and their bicho-bicho yumm… Simply the best. Thanks for sharing this! 🙂

  • Cody says:

Is this branch ran by the same owner in Masangkay, Manila? Miss the food there, bring backs fond childhood memories. Hope they can have another branch somewhere in the ortigas or san juan area soon.

my cousin’s bank is near the West Avenue Ha Yuan branch. we usually had our lunch there and the food was really good! didn’t know that the “original” is now at Mother Ignacia Ave. hope to go there with my hubby for a sumptuous Chinese dinner. thanks ~

  • Suzy Lee says:

@Cody, to answer your question, yes and no.. my grandmother who started Ha Yuan in Masangkay still oversees the Mother Ignacia QC branch (she lives with us 🙂 ). The Masangkay and Banawe branches has been managed separately by my uncle since the 1980’s… We are the same management as the West Avenue branch.
and the good news is we will be opening an outlet at the new Madison Square Granada (just past JT’s Inasal) along Granada/Gilmore in November! Hope to see you there! Catch updates through our FB (HaYuan) or Twitter account (HaYuanTK)
