A week before Mom’s birthday we celebrated already since we knew Mom was leaving. We wanted to give her a dose of her own medicine!! She always takes care of all of us and takes care of all the celebrations for the family, so this time, we wanted to prepare something for her.
We thought of treating her to high tea in flower theme which she likes. Each of us took care of something for the celebration
Thank you to Fr. Julian or celebrating the Holy mass for Mom’s birthday. He is a part of the family so we were happy he could celebrate with us
Pam was our stylist and she gave the guidelines for the attire which was stripes for the guys ( though some came in plaid hmmm… 🙂 ) and floral for the girls…with a hat to go with the high tea event 🙂
Rustan’s Flower shop headed by my sister Maricar in collaboration with Tea with Madeleine set up the venue of our High Tea celebration
I was in charge of the food and contacted different caterers and we all voted for Farah to do it. We all thought she was the perfect choice and though this was her first time to actually have a high tea event, the food was really delicious and perfect for the event. Thank you Farah!!!

Margs, Krie and Pam – the sisters in law – were in charge of the program and they did such a good job! Maricar and I are lucky we have amazing sisters in law to help us 🙂 I made a video ( unedited ) putting together some highlights of the program. I felt that photos cannot replace many things that a video can capture. Reactions, emotions, and just witnessing what really happened. So I have it both in video and in photos

Pam took care of the cake
And Krie made limited edition Messy Bessy giveways for all of us in honor of Mom

lovely treat for a “lovely” Mom/Lola! ~ 🙂 belated happy birthday Ma’am and
may God bless you always ….
sincerely, bing
OMG! I love the fashion show MOST! Its hilarious! You captured your Mom’s style..sometimes like an English lady out for a walk in a wide brimmed hat and gauzy gown. At times like she was treading the fashion plank in Rue St. d Honore…with high fashion couture of Louis Vuitton and stylish extraordinaire mules by Salvatorre Ferregamo or is it vice versa?! And those white rimmed shades of hers, like an i.d. Tag wherever she goes! Imagine even Little Stella became Lil’ Menchu! But Rica, there should have been a facsimile scene of Mom with “Plang!” Thats the anchor, center and piece d’ resistance of her life! To all the Lopez kids, catch it….a bunch of pink, fushia and lavendar roses bouquet!
Happy birthday to Tita Menchu, such an inspiring, happy, and warm person! May God bless your family always!
How cute the fashion show!!!
