Chef Javs ( my son ), always tells me about Chef Bruce because he watches his cooking show on TV. So I was ecstatic when I found out that Chef Bruce has a cookbook! A perfect recipe book that Javier will love! I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Bruce at the launch of his cookbook at his restaurant Chef’s Table

He even demonstrated 3 recipes for us and we even got to try them for lunch
Prawn Aligui Wrapped in Banana Leaves
Stuffed Chicken Leg Adobo with Crispy Pork Flakes
Oh my gosh! Nora Daza!!! Her cookbook was the first cookbook I ever used when I was a kid. Maybe around 10 years old I was baking and cooking and my favorite was her Lenguas de Gato in her first ever cookbook which I still have til now.

Chef Jav is on the right path keenly following this master chef Bruce Lim. I just hope he doesn’t go the way of being bald like him and his apprentices! Is that Nora Daza in the pic with him? During her time, she was a legendary cook like Vicky Bello is now in the beauty business. I was inspired to learn how to cook when I got married when I bought her cookbook! And I gave one to Michele as well. One day, we hope to seat in Chef Jav’s restaurant and savor his own gourmet offerings!
Dear Ms. Rica,
I admire your son Javier – I never thought that he would be so focused and intent on mastering the art of cooking. So young and yet he knows what he wants.
Chef Bruce is one of my cooking icons – he puts Filipino food at par with other international cuisines. His food presentation is to me a forever source of wonder. I follow his cooking show in the Asian Food Channel.
Just like you, Ms. Nora Daza’s cookbook was my bible when I was learning to cook. I remember perfectly – my first dish from her cookbook was Pork Sinigang.
Cheers,
Len
