Design For Our Living Room

When we moved into our house last December, we moved all our old furniture and spread it around the house.  We kept everything and used them.  This was our living room when we moved in

Then After Christmas we removed the Christmas Tree and the leather couch and moved it to the basement

We made the living room like a gallery in the meantime that we are searching for the pieces that will fit the living room.  Aside from the expense to put up the whole living room, we are hoping to find the pieces slowly and find the ones we like

My friend Rachelle insists that the look should be Ralph lauren.  She brought this magazine and told me to go for this theme.  I would also like to get more ideas on what look we should have for our living room…if you have any ideas, please share them with me and email your pegs to ricadejesus@mac.com.  After a few weeks, i will post them here 🙂  I would love to hear from you!!!

Fill it up with You! I go with Frannie’s suggestion but in the final end, your house should express You!

I very much love the Gallery set up. A few more accent chairs placed in strategic positions should give your living room the unique and outside of the box statement as compared to the predictable living room showcase which every house already has.

Hi Rica, here are some of my suggestions that might help you: 1) Habitually Chic blog by Heather Clawson have lots of interior design inspirations 2) Canadian House and Home website for also more interior design ideas and 3) this book written by former Domino Magazine editor Deborah Needleman, The Perfectly Imperfect Home. All the best!

Wow, big space there! I love that you did not rush filling the space up with just about anything. Better to have less if you are not sure than to have too much of things that do not represent who you are. You can also view apartmenttherapy.com for ideas. Happy decorating Ms. Rica!

The Ralph Lauren looks comfortable to live in but it seems like a fire hazard with so many drapes and plants.
