Michael Kors is having a Tinseltown moment. The designer’s fall 2012 advertising campaign fuses together two of his most cherished themes: jetset style and Hollywood glamour. Photographed by Mario Testino at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, the captivating images draw inspiration from the backlots of golden-age Hollywood. Models Karmen Pedaru and Simon Nessman, appearing in their fifth campaign, are pictured together on a sound stage like a latter-day version of ‘30s icons Carole Lombard and Clark Gable. “I love Karmen and Simon because they are both super-glamorous and approachable at once,” says Kors. “They’re youthful and sophisticated at the same time, which makes them so very Michael Kors.”
The ads will bow in the August issues of U.S. publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and W, and the September issues of 63 international titles—14 editions of Vogue, 12 editions of Elle and 13 editions of Harper’s Bazaar among them. The images will also be pushed through digital and mobile outlets, as well as social media platforms. Meanwhile, behind the scenes videos of the shoot will be posted on the recently relaunched DestinationKors.com.
In the Philippines, Michael Kors is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Greenbelt 5, Rustan’s Makati, The Power Plant Mall, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, and Newport Mall.
