Now on its third year, the Youth Peace Summit will gather around 400 kinder to grade 10 students from schools all over the metro to celebrate their talents and individualism in observance of Peace Month.
Promoting peace among children from different communities, the two-day affair aims to spark students’ interest, hone their skills and share their talents with each other through various genres of art.
There are vocal exercises and training, hip-hop dance and Play-Doh workshops for kinder to grade three students; theater acting, comic book writing, introduction to rap and mural painting for grade four to seven students; and guitar/band jam, introduction to songwriting, poetry writing, modern dance and storybook illustration for students grade eight to 10.
Aspiring dancers, actors, singers and artists will get to improve their craft as they learn from special guest speakers and facilitators such as the members of the FEU Dance Company, AKBAY Advocacy Theater Group, and the mural artist AG Sano.
