Since Vicky told me that Oysters Nora was across Dane’s – I decided to take a peek at that P 1.00 fresh pandesal everyone is lining up for!

They were selling them like hotcakes! I bought some to taste!  It was very fluffy and good 🙂

Then when I realized I made a mistake, I had to go to another Danes to look for Nora and this is the other branch in the market

While we were driving on the way to Techno hub, we saw this hotel!  We had also heard about it from Vicky Tinio as she mentioned their restaurant as a recommendation.  They had recently opened in February 2012.

Fresh Talangka

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

Near the longganisa place, we saw this couple selling LIVE FROGS!!! GOSH!

talaga-07.jpgtalaga-08.jpg

I told him to smile for me 🙂

talaga-09.jpg

And small crabs!! My Mom told me that her Dad used to buy that for them and he would squeeze the talangka ( crab fat ) out and put it directly on garlic rice or plain rice!  Hmmmm… sounded so good!! I told Mom to make me try it!!

talaga-01.jpgtalaga-02.jpg

When it got home, the cook cooked it in the pan!!! OH NO!!  She said there were some that were not alive anymore so she cooked it!

talaga-03.jpg

Vicky told us that you have to soak them fresh in vinegar and then squeeze them.  We skipped the soaking part and the cook just cooked them and squeezed them.  The crab fat came out still and it actually tasted YUMMY!  I just added salt and pepper

talaga-06.jpgtalaga-010.jpg

It takes a lot of crabs to get talangka!
