This year LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics has really been celebrating the fun of Christmas! These new festive, limited edition products really conjure up the thrill and excitement of Christmastime – there’s all the traditional LUSH offerings, along with many new inventions to keep you looking, smelling and feeling your very best right into the New Year!
Soap
Lush has been manufacturing luxury handmade soaps since the mid 1980s. In a deliberate move away from truly mass commercial, Lush has perfected the technique of making solid soap by hand using the “pouring” method. In 2007 Mo Constantine OBE helped to invent a palm oil free soap base – so not only are Lush soaps not made with any animal fats, they also help to save the rain forests. This base is available for anyone who would like to use it.

North Pole! (Php 225 for 100g)!
A pink and white pole made of soap, with a pepper-minty aroma for an icy blast straight from the arctic! The different coloured sections are fragranced slightly differently – the pink bit has the delicious aroma of cocoa absolute and invigorating peppermint (also good for stimulating the skin and getting the circulation going in cold winter months); while the white section has more calming, relaxing qualities with cedar wood and cypress oils. Both oils are also toning on the skin. Make sure you get a chunk of each! Vegan
Mr. Punch! (Php 295 for 100g)!
This soap certainly packs a punch with a concoction of fruity essential oils to help fend off the winter cold – there’s cleansing juniperberry oil, blackcurrant absolute, uplifting lime oil and softening coconut oil … there’s even a dash of gin in there to help tone the skin, well it does look a bit like a punch bowl after all, there’s whole bits of fruit in there and everything! Angel’s Delight (Php 225 for 100g)
This annual favourite is back with the same jelly baby scent that you know and love! Angel’s will swoon for all the pink glittery stars and moons that are embedded in this soap and it’s the tangerine and orange oils, along with blackcurrant that give it its yummy fragrance. These oils also really work to cleanse, refresh and detox the skin. Vegan!
Snowcake (Php 245 for 100g)
A Lush classic and bestseller, a slice of Snowcake smells just like the irresistible almond marzipan on the Christmas cake. Lather up with gorgeous rose absolute, that soothes dry, cracked winter skin, and berry scented cassie absolute. Your skin will be left softened and beautifully scented. Vegan!
Snow Globe (Php 195 for 100g)
Imagine yourself inside a snow globe – snow fluttering all around and a feeling of being refreshed, revitalized and uplifted. Well, this soap will make you feel all of the above, with a citrusy lemon myrtle, grapefruit and lemongrass blend that will bluster your senses and wake you up on cold winter mornings. The whole soap is in the shape of a snow globe, with white circles to imitate the snowflakes. Vegan
Northern Lights (Php 275 for 100g)
A bright, beautiful soap reminiscent of the spectacular Northern Lights. This one is made with our inventive technique of pouring soap that enables a colourful swirly effect throughout the soap. Vibrant reds, greens and yellows all flurry together, with the fresh scent of pine oil, cypress oil and lime oil. You could almost be standing in a Finnish forest, breathing in the scent of the woodland and the sights of the Northern Lights! Pine and cypress oils are calming for the mind, while lime oil works well on congested skin and cellulite. A good one to shower with after a late night, it will wake you up whilst soothing the emotions if you’re feeling a little delicate. Vegan

Party Popper (Php 275) … a celebratory bath ballistic that shoots around the bathtub, with popping candy crackling as it goes, blasting out pink and blue trails of colour and some special soap paper, made from soap flakes and fresh honeydew melon. A new amazing Lush invention, patent applied for. Once the bath bomb has fizzed away you can use the remaining soap paper to wash yourself with or smooth into your skin. The fragrance is an uplifting and toning blend of bergamot and tangerine oils, along with healing rose oil. It’s reminiscent of Bucks Fizz and lifts the spirits and warms the body. Vegan

Made with warming cinnamon leaf oil and sweet orange oil to lift the spirits, the scent is of almonds and cherries for a festive marzipan aroma. Popping candy tops it all off, to emulate that comforting sound of a crackling open fire. Vegan!
Golden Wonder bath ballistic (Php 274) … you are sure to ‘wonder’ what’s inside this golden present full of bath time surprises! Pick up this gift shaped ballistic, give it a shake and guess what’s inside. Then drop in a warm bath and golden stars will burst out, dissolving in the water before your very eyes. Inside you will find a wonderful surprise, as the water turns a vibrant blue! Bubble Bars
Invented by Helen Ambrosen in 1998. She wanted to recreate film star bubble baths for, at this time, the art of the bubble bath was dying. However, she also wanted to be able to eradicate the packaging from bubble bath. So, Helen created a simple base of tartar and sodium bicarbonate, to which all sorts of essential oils and fresh ingredients are added to create the solid bubble bar slices we know and love. This enabled us to cut out preservatives too. To use, simply crumble under warm running water to create masses and masses luxurious, softening bubbles. The bubble bath is back and you can have towers of foam if you want to! Patented.
LUSH CLASSICS
Christmas Eve (Php 225) … whatever you do on Christmas Eve, make soaking in the tub with this bubbly, relaxing treat one of your traditions. Crumble under running water and lie back amongst the masses of calming jasmine and ylang ylang scented bubbles. Perfect to help calm excited minds enough to get a good night sleep. There’s also some Irish moss powder (a type of seaweed) in there to soften the skin and make the water silky. Vegan
Bubble Bar Wands
Helen Ambrosen invented the re-usable bubble bar itself in 2008, for one of our SPA treatments. A fantastic idea from the creative team was to then put this formula on a stick, creating these fantastic bubble bar wands. They are made from multi-use bubble bar mixture, which means you can swish them around in numerous baths to create skin softening bubbles, then place on the edge to harden ready for next time. Mo Constantine OBE proceeded to invent the first Lush household product from this idea. Thus the Washing Up Fairy flew into town! But she’s on holiday this Christmas, so instead we have a selection of festive re-usable bubble bar wands for you to choose from! Patent pending.

Massage Bars
Chocolate bars were the inspiration for Mark Constantine OBE, who invented Lush’s range of gloriously scented, environmentally conscious, preservative and packaging free solid massage bars. An alternative to massage oil, we prefer to use lovely butters, like fair trade cocoa butter, that melt on contact with the skin and blend them with effective essential oils – much more efficient than messy oils that run all over the place! By including oils in the butter formulation we have been able to control the melt rate, so you can melt the exact amount required between your palms for the perfect massage
Midnight Massage (Php 425) … perfect for enjoying a cheeky massage before the clock strikes Midnight and see where things take you! A deeply moisturising base of cocoa and shea butters are blended with comforting vanilla absolute and sensual jasmine, along with some forbidden fruits such as fig, carob pods and quince extract that act as a humectant, helping to nourish, hydrate and protect the skin. Lip Scrubs
Invented by Rowena Bird, who knows how important it is to have gorgeously soft, smooth, kissable lips at all times! Lush’s lip scrubs each have a base of castor sugar and jojoba oil, along with a few other essential oils to make them yummy. The castor sugar gently exfoliates away any dry, flaky skin from the lips whilst the jojoba oil moisturises, leaving lips feeling soft, smooth and plumped up.
Popcorn lip scrub (Php 495) … this one tastes so much like popcorn, you won’t be able to resist licking it off! Your lips are one of the most delicate and sensitive areas on your body and susceptible to the elements, especially in winter. Take a small amount of this lip scrub and apply to lips in a circular motion – the castor sugar will gently scrub away any dry flaky skin while the organic jojoba oil will soothe any redness and soreness. Sugar Scrubs
Invented in 2010 after working with the BBC’s Apprentices inspired us to create our own set of ‘sugar’ scrubs, for the ultimate bathroom battle against cellulite and those dreaded dimply bits! Sugar is fantastic at exfoliating the skin and keeping it stimulated to achieve that sought after toned look. One of the most important things to do is to keep your skin gently stimulated and maintain a healthy circulation. By doing this you’ll encourage the elimination of toxins, ensure a healthy turnover of cells and stimulate muscle tone!
Sandy Santa sugar scrub (Php 275) … a festive sugar scrub to help you eliminate all the overindulgence and toxins of the festive season. Use in the shower, work in circular motions all over the body (paying particular attention to problem areas such as thighs and bum) and allow the sand and sugar combination to buff, polish and banish winter skin, revealing the brighter and smoother layer underneath. Also contains uplifting orange, rosewood and sandalwood essential oils. Sandalwood can also act as an astringent, toning the skin and helping to improve its overall appearance. Vegan!

Why was it created?
Here is the ultimate Christmas Collection! Every year we create the collectors box showcasing (nearly*) all of the season’s specials in one grand chocolate box inspired gift! The design was inspired by the work of one of Hilary and Jiggly Paul’s favourite artists, Tord Boontje, and the massive scale of the box was inspired by Lucy and Becca’s trip to Chicago last Christmas – they were overwhelmed by the scale of all the gifts and wanted to create something like that for our customers!

Why was it created?
You may sometimes hear talk of gifts in terms of triangles – this is where we look at the different gifts at different price points and try to make sure we have something for everybody, so whatever your budget, you can find something that you are excited to give.
You may also hear talk of the pink triangle. This is not a euphemism (!), this is just looking particularly at our pink and sweet gifts as we know these are always popular and needed (apart from in Europe where they are not such fans of pink and think that the rest of us a bit crazy for liking it so much).
Well, Quality Treats is the tin in our pink triangle. Packed full of sweet goodness, Hilary and Paul came up with the name (not sure where they got the inspiration from?!) while Molly and Becca created the design. Ale helped Lucy work on the contents (although he’d rather his European colleagues didn’t know that!) – wow that’s a whole lotta team work!

Why was it created?
This year a lot of people in the Lush world have got married – Charlotte, Annabelle, Lucy and Parky to name but a few. In keeping with this theme, Mr Frosty also got hitched, to a sweet Mrs! She’s cute, pink and just his type. When Angela and Chloe came to help Lucy with Christmas gifts they thought that Mr Frosty deserved some wedded bliss too!

Why was it created?
Mr Frosty sat on our shelves, till points and everywhere else we could balance him for the first time last year. He proved a real charmer with staff and customers alike. Whether it was his jaunty (sometimes drunken) angle, his cheeky smile or his three ballistics contents that won over the crowd, we couldn’t say (we suspect it was a combination of all these things!) This year he had to come back (and he’s brought his wife too).
Given how popular Mr Frosty was last year it seemed only right to switch up his contents a little – so any person lucky enough to get him two years in a row has a new trio of bath treats to enjoy.

A big box full of Christmas cheer and festive fun; bath and shower treats for all the family.
Why was it created?
Sometimes inspiration travels in circles! A while ago, Lucy was looking through an old CTG catalogue where she saw ‘Kaleidosoaps’. She then spoke to Michelle about making a big Kaleidosoap. While Michelle was looking into this she found an amazing image of a Kaleidoscope which Lucy then showed to Rebecca, which in turn inspired this gift – funny how things work sometimes!
We wanted a hatbox that was fun and playful to celebrate Christmas – don’t get us wrong, we love the traditional look too – but with so many fun and playful products it seemed only right that we have a big gift to showcase them!

Why was it created?
This year the lovely Cathy Hookey (an illustrator who works in our Truro Shop) joined the gifts team in Design to work on some projects. Whilst she was working with us, Harry suggested that we have a fun and celebratory fiesta in a tin, in honour of some of our Mexican inspiration this Christmas. Cathy did wonders with the idea of a Mexican Christmas with this quirky take on traditional Santa. This jolly design combined with the jovial contents (there’s even Retro in here!) will not fail to make people happy as Santa!
