Milk Market in Jaipur

Our tourguide Raj took us to the Milk market in Jaipur!! What an interesting thing…though maybe after seeing this you ight not drink milk anymore in India

They all sit on the road with jars of fresh milk

It was so hard to take photos from inside the bus and it was moving – but notice the man in the suit – he is bending down – he is actually dipping his whole arm into the jar to test the milk!!! and he will then taste it!!! Raj says that in the hotels they boil the milk before serving it – I hope so

Breakfast at the Rambagh Palace Jaipur

Breakfast is always included in the rooms, so we really take advantage And because we had breakfast everyday – I hardly had to eat any of the junk food I had brought with me!!

I noticed also that they do not offer the hot food menu – so ask for it because you can order anything on the menu and that is still part of the breakfast

Palace Room at the Rambagh Palace

We were able to visit a suite, not sure what category this is. They told us that not one room in the Palace is the same

Rambagh Palace Jaipur by The Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces

Around three hours driving after lunch, we arrived at our next destination – Jaipur! This is the video being played in the hotel room narrated by the Princess herself

A very very beautiful palace!

The excitement is non stop!! Everytime we go to a place, it’s just so breathtaking! And this used to be only the hunting lodge of the Maharaja

Feeling always so welcome Fresh rose petals being thrown as you arrive

Just the facade of the hotel was already too too beautiful, but as you enter the lobby and go through the doors!!

Wine & Cheese Night

Rustan Supermarket organized a Wine and Cheese night last month

Chie Gatchalian gave a short talk on wines and wine pairing

1. Salty food- pair with full bodied, tannic wines (ex. Cabernet Sauvignon); salt in food softens tannins in wine

2. Fatty or fried food- pair with a dry, acidic white wine (ex Sauvignon Blanc); acid cuts through the grease lessening the “umay” factor

3. Savoury or Umami rich food- pair with a fruity wine (ex Beaujolais nouveau) to complement the “linamnam” in the food and not overpower it

4. Sweets/Desserts- pair with sweet wines to perfectly match it.

5. Mildly spicy food- good with sweet wines or juicy wines to counteract the spice (ex Riesling).

Of course, what else goes with wine, but Cheese! Yum
