Superdry

By | Fashion, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

Music, dance and fashion came together as one of the most awaited British brands, Superdry, finally arrived in the Philippines to bring fashion forward designs and aspirational tailoring to Manila’s stylish set.

superdry-01.jpgsuperdry-02.jpg

Exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc., Superdry opened its first store at Bonifacio High Street Central and launched their latest collection at the amphitheater of Bonifacio Global City’s newest hot spot. Directed by Robby Carmona, the launch event was filled with amazing acts that entertained the guests all throughout the evening. With the collection inspired by Japanese graphics, a graffiti artist artistically drew Superdry’s logo on a wall for all the guests to see upon their entrance. Chillectro band Techy Romantics geared up the crowd before the main event as they performed various songs from their albums. To keep the show moving, The Philippine All Stars captivated the audience as they showed their dancing prowess, much to the crowd’s delight.

Superdry Head of International Retail Operations, Brian Nebozuk, welcomed the crowd and expressed his thanks for all those who joined the launch event.

A line-up of models featured the brand’s latest collection together with Superdry’s event ambassadors: top model Pauline Prieto, fashion blogger David Guison and events host Tricia Centenera.

Iconic detailing is taken to new heights with Superdry’s Autumn Winter 2012 Collection with color-pop stitching, mesh lining and shearling finishes. Interesting silhouettes and autumnal palettes give a powerful collection with country-chic styles, punk flashes and heritage twists.

Donning the latest from the label, the men wore tailored looks with a full range of incredible jackets in heritage colors and fabrics; knitted collars and cuffs that gave the pieces a modern twist on this classic British tailoring. The commodity range chinos, cargo pants and deconstructed blazers in sandstone and washed-out blues offer fashion-led fits with functional touches. The women stayed feminine with varsity-inspired tees in burnt-out colors, cracked graphics and vee necklines; equestrian-style jodhpurs are introduced with quilted leather patches and double front-zip pockets. Denim goes premium with super-soft feel and stretch fabric for a second-skin fit; choose high-waisted, tomboy or super-skinny cuts.

DJ duo The Diegos kept the crowd on their feet as they amped up the night with their beats together with non-stop service sponsored by San Miguel — San Miguel Premium All Malt Beer, San Miguel Super Dry, Cerveza Negra, and premium ice-filtered San Mig Strong Ice.  These together with delectable appetizers kept the guests on their toes, as they partied the night away.

Born from an inspirational trip to Tokyo, Superdry offers clothing with impeccable quality and an iconic modern aesthetic. Worn by Hollywood A-listers, this unique urban outerwear and denim label fuses Japanese graphics, vintage Americana and the finest British tailoring. Superdry’s core philosophy is to offer ‘future classics’ with incredible detailing, original fits, and vintage washes, at attractive prices creating clothing that suits every age.

With the brand’s ethos: quality, value and design, Superdry will keep Manila’s fashionable set looking their best for any season.

I’ve never seen so many kinds of elephants in my life 🙂  But I love them!  Elephants with trunks going up are good luck 🙂 So make sure when you buy one, make sure the trunk is facing up

We had a private elephant ride 🙂  Peaceful and quiet.  We realized how slow the elephants move and that’s how they used to travel in the olden days!  I was a bit scared because we were so high! If that elephant decides to dance or something… yikes! 🙂

Nicole Whisenhunt

niole-whisenhunt-profile.jpg

Emi Jorge

emi-jorge.jpg

Emi celebrates the natural forces of storytelling to fashion art out of stick, stone, metal, and shell. For the past 20 years, she has conceived and designed women’s shoes and accessories with a strong mastery of the feminine mystique; serenity exuded in her creative choices; and purity of expression and craftsmanship. The duality of her creative process –disciplined, yet organic – reveals the inner workings of her designs. Her eponymous collection of modern artisan handbags is a fine product of dramatic transmutations of ideas filtered straight through her hands. From one-dimensional sketches to technical drawings, clay figures, paper sculptures, and fabric pieces to the carefully selected sustainable raw materials, Emi builds from skeletal cohesions of her organic themes.

She debuts with a stellar jewelry collection based on the theme ” Prey” using textures and references from natural defense mechanisms.

Emi’s work has been a featured artist in Swarovski,HK ( 2004) Ayala (2007), the School of Fashion and the Arts (2007), and the SLAB Gallery (2009). In 2009, her art pieces were included in “Portraits de Chaussures Histoires de Pieds (Portraits of Shoes, Stories of Feet)“, an exhibition at the Yuchengco Museum curated by Yves Sabourin. In September of the same year, she held a solo exhibition of shoes, “Battlegear and Armour” modeled by muses and fashion celebrities. She debuted a collection of minaudieres in May 2010 entitled“Filipino Specimens” on Fifth Ave. New York. She also participated as an exhibitor in ManilaArt (2010) .

She is currently selling her clutches in www.shoplatitude.com and will soon be available in www.couturelab.com

Janina Dizon

 logo-janina.png

Janina Dizon Hoschka, a mother of two and alumna of G.I.A. (Gemological Institute of America), is part of a pedigree of jewelry makers that began with her grandmother Paz Bañas, and her late mother, the iconic Jul Dizon.

She channeled sixteen years of knowledge and experience to launch her own company, JANINA for Jul Dizon in 2007 at the Peninsula Manila Hotel. She uses a wide variety of precious gemstones that include citrine, pink sapphires, green amethyst, black and white diamonds in either 18-karat gold or in rose, black and yellow sterling silver.

The arrangement of the materials in some ways is reminiscent of vintage jewelry. She piles on textures, contrasts different colors and incorporates unexpected forms like a coral octopus or gem encrusted stingray handbag. Each piece is different; possessing its own unique character. There is no shortage of personality.
