The Concept

A juxtaposition of past and present, the TWG Tea Salon & Boutique honours the important role that Singapore culture and the city’s glorious past has played along the tea route, by providing a modern and luxurious tea-drinking experience. The first TWG Tea location in Philippines at premier shopping destination Greenbelt mall is an elegant 128 sqm salon & boutique and an invitation to step into a world of grandeur, with hand crafted glass walls, bronze fittings, Italian marble floors, crystal lamps and antique mirrors.

The Tea Boutique

A nostalgic celebration of the voyage of the tea clippers, this timelessly chic wood-panelled TWG Tea Boutique, spiced with brass weighing scales and hard wood tea counters, is sure to carry customers away on a journey of sensations. The TWG Tea Boutique’s most impressive feature is the TWG Tea wall and rows of signature yellow artisan tea tins filled with more than 450 of the most celebrated fine harvest teas and exclusive tea blends in the world, all of which may be purchased by weight from 50 grams in sachets or perfectly accessorised in one of TWG Tea’s 45 bespoke tea tins.

Brightly coloured, whimsical packaged teas are aplenty, such as the Haute Couture Tea collection which features unique tea blends handcrafted by TWG Tea innovators according to the flavours of the season and packaged in designer hues that reflect the latest catwalk trends. Collection includes signature 1837 Black Tea and world favourite Silver Moon Tea, a blend of green teas accented with a grand berry and vanilla bouquet. The Tea Salon

The intimate Tea Salon, with its signature rattan-backed black velvet chairs and crisp white table linens, recall Singapore’s early days as a trading port. Featuring a savoury menu, gastronomes will be delighted by an exceptional dining experience with dishes carefully developed and infused with select TWG Teas, such as Foie Gras Terrine accompanied by toasted brioche and Sakura! Sakura! Tea jelly and Summer Quiche served with mixed greens tossed in 1837 Green Tea infused vinaigrette. Desserts are meticulously handcrafted daily and include specialty items such as TWG Tea’s signature tea-infused macarons and tea pastries served with TWG Tea jelly and whipped cream. TWG Tea Preparation

Tea offerings include unique harvests from the most prestigious gardens and renowned tea blends, prepared behind the bar according to TWG Tea’s exact specifications and meticulously served in signature TWG Tea Design Teapots & French Teapots, or iced in tall crystal stemware.

We were so happy to visit Atty. Gonzales farm in Tagaytay!!  Now that he is semi retired, he has had more time to spend developing his farm and it is such a beautiful place…somewhere behing Antonio’s.

Francois Nars grew up in the South of France, whewe he spent his childhood exploring his fashion-plate mother, Claudette’s Vogue magazines and watching classic Hollywood and European cinema. He was inspired by the exuberant sophistication of Yves Saint Laurent, he sumealist wit of Guy Bourdin, and the inimitable glamour of starlets like Catherine Denueve. To this day, these first insipirations shape Francois’ approach to beauty, and often come to life as dramatic make up look or evocative, cinema-inspired product names like Dolce Vita, Strada, or Belle de Jour.

Upon graduating from the famed Carita Makeup School in Paris, Francois Nars’ rapid ascent in the fashion world reflected talent, hard work, and uncommon vision. His approach to makeup to make up was still is revolutionary: to use make up to explore the depths and nuances of individual character. Designers like Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld and Versace, admired his ability to create iconic looks, both highly theatrical and ultra-natural, that engaged in compelling dialogue with their designs. For photographers like Avedon and Melsel, Francois created a vast repertoire of looks that never failed to uniquely capture a woman’s individuality. Francois’ signature approach to image making is exemplified by his close collaboration with Madonna in the ‘90’s. He helped forge the star’s perpetual reinvention, uncovering aspects of her personality that no one had ever seen, conveying an innate vulnerability, sensuality and a timeless glamour.

Francois Nars unwittingly revolutionize the makeup industry when he launched NARS, his cult beauty collection, debuting at Barneys New York with 12 lipsticks in essential, highly pigmented colors. Discovering a talent and passion for photography, Francois shoots all NARS’ ad campaigns with approach that is as visionary as his makeup philosophy.
