Manila Golf Golden Tee

Every year, Manila Golf holds it’s annual Golden Tee tournament. It’s a big thing for the club and this event is very well attended by the members and well sponsored by many of the biggest companies in the country. It was my first time to attend last 2009

At the end of the tournament, there is a dinner and it is usually held on Valentine’s day or the Valentine weekend. They set up a giganic tent in the golf course just for the evening

We attended one more after the 39th and missed one but I didn’t take photos.

This was this year, the 42nd!

James made sure I took a photo of this, a very rare Lexus and the only one in the Philippines. Don’t ask me more about cars, that’s all i know about this one 🙂

On the way there, they tempt you with the Grand raffle prize. Though we really wanted the Lexus 🙂

We were on time, but when we got there, mostly everyone was there! They are so punctual!

We were happy to find a table in the end of the room and be beside the buffet 🙂 and be beside Tito Willie and Tita Marion!! So nice to see them! We were all hoping to win something in the raffle!

There are a couple of entertainment numbers in between the raffle and I noticed they are all geared towards the men 🙂 hence the pretty girls like Aubrey Miles!

In our table, Raj won airplane tickets to anywhere in the Philippines!! WOOHOO!!

Two handsome 🙂 Paolos sat on our table for awhile….hoping to win also. And it was Paolo Prieto’s birthday!! Happy Birthday Paolo, my childhood neighbor 🙂

And that evening I told James that tonight we will not say our usual line that ” We never win in raffles!” Which is why we probably really never win because we already have such a negative attitude. So I was so determined I told James that we will win something tonight……. and James did!!!!! WOOHOO!!!! A camera for me 🙂

We were inside the pebble already which is already in existence and is used to showcase the different model units

And with great news as Century Properties ties up with a very well known brand, Missoni Home, for the interiors of the Livingstone Tower

All the items in the photos you will see are the real Missoni items including the tiles on the floor!

Even the bathroom signs were dressed up in Missoni! 🙂

Healthier Alternative to Whipped Cream by Whip It

With people looking for healthier lighter alternatives to whipped cream, this is great recipe Whip It recently developed and I wanted to share it with you as an alternative topping to whipped cream.

needed:

· 1 L whip-it! ™ whipper

· 2 whip-it! ™ n20 chargers

· 700 gm of plain yogurt (greek style is recommended for best taste)

· 250 ml of whole milk or 2% milk

· sweetener (optional)

· flavoring (optional)

directions:

· blend all ingredients (this can be even done in a simple bowl and whisk) *make sure yogurt and milk are cold

· pour into whipper

· close and charge with (2) n20 chargers

· shake and dispense!

For those with 500 ml whipper simply halve the quantities of all ingredients and use just 1 charger instead of 2

The yogurt is a great tasting, much lighter and healthier option as it comes out very foamy and smooth, and it’s a very unexpected yet pleasant variation on eating yogurt.

top anything you would top with whipped cream like waffles, cakes, cookies, ice cream, fruits, frappes, natural artisan sodas etc. also, this is even more versatile than whipped cream as it goes great with cereal, birchli, nuts, as a complement for Mediterranean and Indian foods etc!

*We have noticed that the yogurt topping is not a stiff as the whipped cream so it presents differently. It’s recommended to use less milk if you want a stiffer topping-but this will take some trial and error as too little milk will make the yogurt get stuck in the whipper and not dispense.

Here are some of the medications mentioned in the article which are the known ones and which many take. I have tried Tums and it really works instantly to relieve

Nexium you have to take 30 minutes before eating

Zantac I have not tried

Each one has a different reaction to each kind of medication or supposed cure – so one cannot generalize that one medicine will work for all

My friend Tin has a very sensitive stomach so she says that she has tried many and they all don’t work and she ends up throwing up. For her these two medicines work:

Probiotic Quattro from Healthy Options, I do not have a photo so I put this- I figured there are different brands of this kind of medicine

This one is from Japan, it works very well because it is strong but she said you have to get it in Japan or know someone who can get it for you from Japan

I go for the more natural kinds…I try to avoid medicines and unnatural stuff

My most natural way which I learned from Teddy Montelibano

Just okra and water – Clean and wash the okra, then cut it into pieces and then soak in water overnight. I leave it in my bathroom

and when I wake up this is how it looks

then I remove the okra and something jelly like comes out

then I drink first thing in the morning ( of course I brush my teeth first 🙂 ) and do not eat til after 30 minutes. Honestly, it tastes really terrible so I just close my eyes and drink it as fast as I can but it works instantly

Then after 30 minutes follow it up with a glass of water and 2 calamansis squeezed into the water

Yakult is now a staple in our refrigerator- the whole family drinks it! Concon recommended this to us

As my sister in law, Keena, told me, a lot of it is in the food that we eat. All the medicines we take are all just giving relief but not treating the problem.
