By | What's New at Rustan's, What's new at Shopwise?, Yummy! | No Comments

We discovered this yummy gaufrette (wafer crackers in French ehem ehem 🙂 )  in Rustan’s Supermarket!  James loves Praline Noisette ( hazelnut ) and for him to say this is yummy, it must be yummy 🙂 So I tried it and liked it!!

casino-gaufrette-praline-rustans-supermarket.JPG

I went to Rustan’s Makati ( not sure if all stores have this – Shopwise carries Casino too) to look for it and I was so happy it was on sale!!!!! YIPEE!!! I hoarded!!  And there is another variety in Chocolat.  The prices here are not even the real sale price –  The hazelnut came out to P 60.40 and the Chocolate was P 52.50

Wrong Ramen

By | Foodie | No Comments

We heard about this place from our nephew, Ramon.  So I once again accompanied my two Ramen boys to check it out

wrong-ramen-1.jpgwrong-ramen-2.JPG

We arrived at around 615pm so there were very few people

wrong-ramen-3.JPG

Funny 🙂

wrong-ramen-4.jpg

We went up the stairs since it was almost fully occupied on the ground floor – cute Darth Vader in the corner of the steps

Mr. Bean

By | Foodie, Health and Fitness | No Comments

I visited Alabang Towncenter and went to their new wing – The Garden Wing.  There is a Starbucks as well in this area!

mr-bean-2.JPG

I came over to visit Mr. Bean!

mr-bean-image.jpg

No not that Mr. Bean but this Mr. Bean 🙂

 525802_420645557949581_470630805_n.jpg

I have not heard of this though they had opened since last April 2012 – this store.  They have expanded to Eastwood Mall, Lucky Chinatown Mall and soon in Mc Kinley Hills.  I can’t wait for the Makati branch to open!  Mr. Bean is a franchise from Singapore.  18 years ago found by two college friends who developed a machine that could make soya milk quickly and efficiently.  Their first stall was in People’s park Hawker Center.  They now have 50 stores in Singapore and are available already in Japan, Korea, China and Malaysia

mr-bean-1.JPG

I met the owner of Mr. Bean there – Anne Tan King.  She is the cousin of Donna and Diana of Sariwon.  This is the second generation of the Jollibee family and they are now starting new franchises.  I love these young ladies – they are all so humble and so so nice!  Anne told me that they are all owners but each one handles each franchise separately so that there will be no conflict in management though they have board meetings regularly to monitor their businesses as a team.  I admire them and I hope they can continue this.

Life’s Simple Pleasures!

mr-bean-3.JPGmr-bean-7.jpg

I am not really a taho or soy milk person, but after trying Mr. Bean, I am now converted!  I love Soy – anything soy 🙂 atleast from Mr. Bean

mr-bean-5.jpg18690_557765900904212_1546550799_n.jpg178975_637244342956367_1192515175_n.jpg374523_557714357576033_1770000450_n.jpg

579525_456044877742982_1548541432_n.jpg

I tried almost everything on the menu!  Anne served me their bestsellers

mr-bean-8.JPG

Of course the basic CLASSIC soya milk chilled for me since its summer 🙂

 mr-bean-12.JPG

All the products are made fresh daily and once it reaches a certain period of expiry – they dispose it and make a fresh batch.  They have a machine behind in their backroom which processes the soy beans.  All the soy beans are imported from Malaysia

601617_550401861640616_1898852345_n.png

Then I tried the Icy Lychee! I loved it because of the lychee pop which was in the drink! Instead of the usual sago balls its a lychee pop which literally pops in your mouth!

mr-bean-16.JPG

Then I got to try the watermelon which was for me something I would order because they use fresh fruit.  In the menu there is a FRESH FRUIT SOY drink section – those are all fresh fruits mixed with soy milk.  I would recommend those for health reasons

mr-bean-17.JPG

And then the taho!  Anne told me they had to change the wording of the menu so that our countrymen could identify with taho! 🙂

mr-bean-10.JPGmr-bean-6.jpg

I took home some of these and my boys loved it!! They are the real taho eaters!  This is how it comes in so it is easy to take home.  I feel safer buying these rather than through vendors in the street in terms of safety and sanitary reasons.  No offense to the vendors because we do want to support them too

mr-bean-15.JPG526924_622155571131911_1547141108_n.png

You can add sugar to your soy products, you have to specify your sweetness level 🙂 Love this feature!

 943345_638932242787577_2004741907_n.jpg

Oh my gosh!  I liked this next one – mostly because of that peanut rice ball!!!  I like to order only the rice ball! 🙂  It reminds me of a mochi or a buchi in a chinese restaurant!!

mr-bean-4.jpg

You cannot see it when it gets to you, you have to scoop it out 🙂

mr-bean-14.JPG

Another yummy product!!!! Pancakes!!

pancakes-1.jpg mr-bean-9.JPG

Reminds me of those Japanese pancakes

mr-bean-13.JPG

Of course I liked the one with cheese inside!!!

mr-bean-18.JPG

Then there is soy ice cream! Yummy!!!!

mr-bean-19.JPGmr-bean-pricelist.jpg

Thank you Anne for this cute Mr. Bean stuffed toy – definitely cuter than Mr. Bean up there 🙂  This will soon be available for sale as customers have been requesting for this

A heart in his behind 🙂

Cookie Butter Pancake Surprise at Pancake House

By | Yummy! | No Comments

I have been trying new things at Pancake House- after all we are there every Saturday.  It’s a good thing Dina wanted to share this Red Velvet pancakes.  People were saying it was not good, but to us it was okay

pancake-house-red-velvet-pancakes.jpeg

Thanks to instagram I do not have to wait for my blog to come out to let out my excitement when I see something!

cookie-butter-pancakes-pancake-house-instagram-heart2heart.png

This is proof that photos on ads and staged articles are very different for the actual food dish being served which is why at Heart2Heart,  What you see is what you get.  Nothing is staged unless it is a press photo

 cookie-butter-pancakes-pancake-house-heart2heart-instagram.png

Cookie butter has been available at Heart2Heart’s store since last year – first launched at P 525.00 when we were consigning from a friend, then later on I was able to bring them in myself and sold it at P 350.00.  The store does not make much – just enough to cover expenses of buying it there, shipping it here, handling etc etc.  The last batch arrived was the Crunchy version which was in red label.  Now the store totally ran out.  Some stores still sell at P 450.00 and up.

Apparently they are rationing the cookie butter at Trader Joes.  Trader Joes is not happy that people are selling their product 3 to 4 times the price at their store.

crunchy-cookie-butter-trader-joes-amazon.jpg trader-joes-cookie-butter.jpg

So any cookie butter you can get hold of now is valuable! 🙂
