G20 Summit at Saint Petersburg

When we arrived in St. Petersburg, we had such good weather! It was sunny and it was not too cold. Apparently Putin had fired a missile upward to open up the clouds for good weather for the G20 Summit which was held on September 5 and 6 and we arrived the day after it was finished! Who says we can’t control the weather!?!

We probably came at a good time because the city was in tip top shape We drove to Peterhof and quickly passed by the houses where the delegates of the G20 stayed!

Each delegate had a whole house built for them!

Putin made sure the city was orderly that even buildings that were under construction had nice covers to cover the facade

Kempinski Hotel St. Petersburg

Our home in St. Petersburg!

I like the location because it’s not busy and it feels like I am in Venice

View from the entrance of the hotel – look further down across the bridge

and walk a few meters, that is already the Hermitage

The room which is nautical in theme. Maybe we are supposed to be on a ship since we are by the canal

The bathroom floor is heated!!! I love that feature and more probably when it’s winter in Russia

We went up to check the restaurant of the hotel – NICE!

A Wedding in London

We attended a wedding in London and there were some quite unique features which I really liked

The bride made her own bouquets out of printed paper

Guests were transported by the London Red Bus from the church to the reception

Cocktail drinks were given to the guests so they could sip some champagne while riding the bus

Friends from London got pearls from the Philippines while guests from the Philippines got London souvenirs. Ours were coasters with artworks by Banksy

Al Arez Lebanese Cuisine

There is quite a big community of Arabs in London, so we saw a lot of Arabian cuisine around the city. I was really hoping we could go to one but due to time constraint, we were not able to go to one with the family. So on our last night, James and I crossed the street from our place in Knighstbridge and had some Lebanese Cuisine!!! When we crave for rice, we look for Chinese, Thai or a kebab place This is dedicated to our good friend, Ned, who is Lebanese Make sure when in London, try some Lebanese cuisine!
