Sunny Bakeshop Serving Freshness for 60 Years!

By | Foodie, Giving Back, Great Achievements | 7 Comments

Heart2Heart is so happy to meet Tita Carla Abreu-Lim of Sunny Bakeshop!  I visited her at the Corinthian Gardens Clubhouse.  Thank you Tita Reggie Aguinaldo Young for introducing Heart2Heart to Sunny Bakeshop and Tita Carla!

Tita Carla told me the story about how her mom, Lulu Campos Abreu, who started Sunny bakeshop in 1960!  Her mom used to love baking and took baking lessons at the same time learned a lot from her mother in law.  Tita Carla said that her Mom always had a bubbly and “sunny” disposition hence the name SUNNY Bakeshop 🙂  In the mid 80’s she closed the store in Dian St. and continued to sell from her home to friends and family.  When Lulu Campos passed away, Tita Carla decided to continue the business.  She told me that she believes in keeping the heritage and culture alive so as not to lose one’s identity.  If she did not continue what her Mom was doing, she would have lost everything that was good and created by her Mom

The bakeshop is a very cute corner in the clubhouse of the Corinthian Gardens Village in Quezon City.  It is a gated village but don’t worry, the guards will let you in the gate if you say you are picking up something from Sunny Bakeshop

This is like their commissary as well since all the baking is done here.  There is no dining area but just a place to pick up the goodies.  What a cute place!

Tita Carla pointed out that weighing scale on top of the shelf which is the one that her Mom used before

Tita Carla said that they don’t scrimp on ingredients so be assured you have the best quality tasting food from Sunny Bakeshop.

Mango Torte

Toffee Sansrival!  Wow!!

Apple pie!!

The original Mango Tarts which everyone tried copying.  My mom keeps asking me about the pineapple stars! 🙂

One of their bestsellers, Vienna Wafers made out of casuy.  The casuy they use comes from a livelihood for women in El Nido.  It’s a foundation that gives back so not only are you eating yummy vienna wafers, you are helping the women of Palawan.

Tita Carla said that aside from all the original recipes of Sunny Bakeshop, she added the salty food items 🙂

Chorimada – Chorizo ensaymada in bite sizes.  They also have the original ensaymada

This is my FAVORITE!!!  Cheesesticks!!  I buy these in boxes from New York and now I can have them fresh and made in the Philippines!!! YUM! I highly recommend this very yummy cheese breadstick

It’s made out of Pecorino cheese!

Garlic Ham rolls!  They used to make this with spam but now they replaced it with ham and garlic for a better alternative.  Beside it is the mini chorizo rolls!  YUMMY TOO!!

There were no cinnamon rolls available that day I visited so I just took a photo!  But they are known for this too!!!

Always best to call in advance for your orders so they are freshly made 🙂  You can have a party already by just ordering everything from Sunny Bakeshop!

Have a SUNNY DAY!! and ALWAYS KEEP SMILING:-)
