YOLO

By | Yummy! | No Comments

We met Eunice during out last trip to Baguio!  Mark and Neng introduced us to her.  It started when Mark and Neng raved about her fresh homemade yogurt and I insisted I wanted to try it.

We were so lucky that Eunice was able to make some and we were able to try it!  She brought this big tub of fresh yogurt which all of us loved!!!!  Even Neng says that whenever she gives it to her friends, they all love it!!  Some say it is like Greek yogurt!

Eunice brought some nuts and blueberry to eat with the yogurt, we added the truffle honey and the fresh strawberries and banana

A few months after, I received yogurt from Eunice and Neng and now it comes in smaller sizes!  And it is now called YOLO!!!  🙂  We were discussing the term during out last trip in Baguio – YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE ( YOLO ) – so when I received it I was smiling!!

I have been telling Eunice to bring it to Manila and we have been trying to find a way.  But meantime, if you are in Baguio or if you know someone who is coming home from Baguio – I suggest you order some yogurt from Eunice!  It comes in 500 grams and 610 grams

Eunice’s family own a restaurant, Calajo, in baguio and she is now the one running it.  She also offers her yogurt there.  I suggest that if you place your order, contact her already even before going to Baguio to give her enough time to make it and prepare it.  Contact Eunice at 0920-945-8559 or email at paypaodan@yahoo.com

Congratulations Tita Wing Del Prado and Ramon del Prado on your exhibit!!!

Around 35 years ago, Tita Wing del Prado had an exhibit in the same place and now she is back.  She told me that she stopped painting when she had the kids 🙂  But now that she has more time to spare, she is back to painting

Ramon’s style s textures.  He is into digital animation and he wanted to try another form of art.  In 2007 he got his Fulbright scholarship in New York which enabled him to take his Masters in the School of Visual Arts.  He then came home and was a consultant for The Commission on Information Communications Technology (CICT) teaching animation to public high schools around the country.  He is now a freelance graphic designer and animator.  He does some work with Tuldok Animation Studios to further enhance the Filipino animation industry to help our country preserve our culture through animation

Congratulations!!

By | Christmas, For kids, Giving Back | One Comment

Another project by the Negrese for Change Foundation ( NVC ) is the Start Right Live Bright Project

These beautiful ladies, Giselle and Camille, explained to me about Mingo 🙂  You can buy Mingo at P 4.00 a pack which is good for a day already for a child.  There are two flavors, regular and chocolate.  Of course kids prefer chocolate 🙂  Mingo was already existent before Yolanda came and they were using Mingo for relief in the past.  All you need is water to mix with the powdered Mingo.  Read more below

Another way you can help this Christmas is by buying Mingo cards for only P 250.00 and help in their feeding program

Rambla

By | Foodie, What's New at Power Plant Mall | One Comment

I was looking at all my delayed Spain posts and suddenly had a craving for Spanish food!!! It’s a good thing Rambla opened in Rockwell!!!

Opened by the same owners as Las Flores.  Uri Singla was there 🙂  Rambla is Catalan food.  I have never been to that area so I am so happy to have been able to try their cuisine!

Previous entry:  Las Flores April 16, 2013

Chef Pepe who is their corporate chef

Pretty servers 🙂

Loved my Naughty Banana Smoothie ( even though I am not naughty! 🙂 )

We ordered almost everything on the menu!  We wanted to try all!! 🙂  Good thing we were a lot 🙂  Everything was good!!  No need to go all the way to Spain to have good Spanish food when you can have it here!

Super yum croquettes!!  Please have some more croquettes with different fillings!

Uri personally took care of us!  We got the BEST service 🙂

Spherical Olives

Yum!!! My Dad was telling Uri to have a degustation meal!  I hope they will offer this in the future.  Chef Pepe is very talented!

Crispy Catalan Flat bread – Butifara and the next one was Goat cheese!  VERY GOOD!!

Egg dishes were also excellent!  Amazing how a simple egg is now being cooked in many ways!

rambla-vegetables.JPGAmazing dish!!!

rambla-esqueixada.jpeg

WOW! Burrata!!  A MUST!

We almost tried everything on the meat menu except the cannelloni

Wow! 🙂 Once in awhile hopefully is not bad!

Uri told us that we need to try this since this is the Chef’s specialty!  It was amazing.  Under those prawns is the chicken and seafood coulant!  AMAZING!  First time for me to try a dish like this

YUM!!!!!

I can’t stop saying yum!  Everything was really good.  PORK PORK PORK! 🙂  A very well made crispy suckling pig!  YUM!

Seafood dishes which were all very popular.  We were 9 in the table and we shared all the dishes

We had three out of the four 🙂  YUM!
