Christmas at Yabu at SM Aura

By | Cheese, Christmas, Foodie | One Comment

Arlene took us out but I chose the place! 🙂  I am so happy to be with these ladies – Arlene, Mayet and Eds.  We chose to have brunch so that was 10am and the best time to be in a restaurant because it is not crowded and we had the place all to ourselves till around 1130am and fully crowded by 1230pm

I chose Yabu!

Previous entry:  Yabu:  House of Katsu  November 11, 2011

Love love this place and I am so happy it’s in Makati!!!!

yabu-at-sm-aura-3.jpeg

I have been wanting to try the best tonkatsu in the house!  So we had the Kurobota.  Eds wanted curry so we asked them to put the curry sauce on the side.  So nice to know they have brown rice too now.    And now everything is unlimited!! In the sets you can order anything on the tray again and again 🙂  Though I cannot finish more than what is there 🙂  I just like the fact that you have the option to have more of something you like berkshire-pork-yabu-house.JPG

And I wanted to try this too!!!!

Katsu with cheese inside!!! YUMMY!!! Its ground pork and beef so it’s like a burger type

Chicken katsu set for Mayet

I love the restroom! It has all these posters of different quotes, tweets, quotes from blogs and I saw Chuvaness! 🙂

The place was so full when we were leaving at around 1230pm and we screamed when we saw Lisa and Margie in the outside seating!!  So happy to see them!!

Two days later, my brother, Quito, sent me this!!  He saw it in Yabu in Megamall!! The first branch! I was so so touched! I love John and Peachy for always making me feel important 🙂 I am so happy Yabu is so successful and you are both successful! 🙂  Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Hams

By | Christmas, Foodie | 2 Comments

Here are some of the Christmas hams that I know of.  If there are other yummy hams there I would appreciate it if you would let me know so I can add them to my list 🙂

You can never go wrong with Jamon!  It’s a family favorite and available in Rustan’s.  I put here the ham pages from the Traditions Catalog of Rustan’s

I am not really a ham person until I tasted this!  We received this as a gift and we had it a few days ago and wow!!!

wildflour-pork-belly-ham-975.jpg

As the instruction says, slice it as thick as a finger – so it is like a bacon slab and wow! YUMMY!!  It’s a pork belly ham!  And the Parkson rolls that come with it are also very good!!

I saw this on their facebook page and it looks good too with sliced pears

Christmas Trees 2013

By | Christmas | No Comments

I put together some photos of Christmas trees this year.  The last time I featured trees was in 2007

Christmas Trees  December 26, 2007

A beautiful Christmas tree by my friend, Tricia Eusebio Hosaka, who chose everything from Rustan’s Flower Shop.  This is her first family Christmas tree since normally she just shares her Christmas tree with her Mom who she lives with.  So this is quite a special tree for her and her family.  Thank you Tricia for sharing this wonderful memory with Heart2Heart

My Mom has three Christmas trees around her house.  This is one of them and it is in the family room.  Those are Starbucks bears and gingerbread man stuffed toys

My Lolo has 4!  I think I am going to have 2 next year 🙂  Who says you can only have 1 Christmas tree!

This sister in law of mine is so creative and has such good taste!  She put up this Christmas tree and chose all the decors from Rustan’s Flower Shop that went in it!  So elegant!

Love love this! Nothing beats this gigantic fresh Christmas tree in front of the cathedral of Our Lady of Covadonga in Spain

The Four Seasons Hotel in HK has several too!  Two gigantic ones – one in the driveway and one in the lobby

I love this one in the buffet – its not the usual tree!

Chinese theme

I chose this because again it is not the usual.  It’s owls! 🙂

From my brother and Krie – which is a white Christmas theme

I love coming here during Christmas!

This is our third Christmas already in our home and I have used the decors three times 🙂  So maybe next year we can change theme 🙂

Christmas Segragation

By | Christmas, Green | One Comment

Oh my gosh! I am segragating during christmas! 🙂  Is there such a thing as Christmas segragation?

I am so busy watching over the mess I don’t get to open gifts! I open them after the kids have opened theirs 🙂  I am nagging them to put ribbons together, torn wrappers and boxes etc etc

segragating-christmas-gifts.jpeg

All gifts that come in paper bags, I set aside and keep for reuse

segragating-christmas-bags.jpeg

I don’t have the heart to throw!!  I keep all the ribbons and try to reuse too

segragating-christmas-ribbons.jpeg

I used to collect the Rustan’s boxes and ribbons and return them back to the store so they can be reused, but recently I keep them because I love the boxes!!  I can use them to store things in my linen cabinet or pantry

segragating-rustans-boxes-and-ribbons.jpeg

Then of course wrappers have to go because they are torn already – though they can be used for stuffing too

Christmas Wrappings

By | Christmas, Design | No Comments

I put together a few wrappings which I feel are really unique this year.  I am not creative so I really appreciate how people put together things!

The champion is this one which I received from a very good friend of mine, Arlene.  She is an interior designer and a very creative lady.  She used brown paper and personally wrote a christmas hymn on it!  How personalized can you get?  And what a labor of LOVE 🙂  What was inside is another story and will be featured in the future 🙂

christmas-wrappings-1.jpeg

A unique gift tag this time!  I saw this on instagram from Vanessa
christmas-wrappings-2.jpeg

In instagram as well, from Kat Holigores
christmas-wrappings-3.jpeg

From my brother Quito and Pam!  What a unique and elegant design.  I opened it slowly and removed the scotch tape because I did not want to tear the wrapper! 🙂
christmas-wrappings-4.jpeg
I actually prefer gifts wrapped in bags which you can reuse.  I feel bad tearing wrapping paper and throwing them.  I liked this one from our friends Randy and Pia.  I liked the folded top and then she put a green velvet ribbon and a glittered star which made it look really elegant
christmas-wrappings-6.jpeg

I like this gift tag because of the crest /logo
christmas-wrappings-7.jpeg

I think this is unique too because its not the usual christmas colors.  This was black and orange from Randy and Candy!

Loving pompoms this year!!

Intersting gift wrap from Fully Booked.  Took the back and can’t figure out still how they did it!

They are the cutest! ENJOY!

Santa Came to Town

By | Christmas | No Comments

Santa came to town!!  To greet and give gifts to the kids who came to Mom’s house for caroling.

Previous entry:  Santa Claus is Coming to Town December 30, 2008

The kids of San Juan Nepomuceno Malibay supported by the Assumption.  We love listening to them because they bring so much joy and meaning to Christmas.

[wp_youtube]5ubaFbo6-lc[/wp_youtube]

The real Santa is my Mom who puts together all of this!  She provides everything and organizes everything for the kids, the school, for Santa, for our kids, for us and for everyone!

dsc_2298.JPG

Since it was Mio and Mischka’s birthday, they helped Santa give out gifts to the kids

I love the topping bar for Pinkberry and Golden Spoon.  This time it is individually portioned so it is more sanitary especially if there are a lot of people partaking

And our latest mascot gets center stage since it is his first christmas!!  Such a cutie this baby Pepe and such a good boy!  He never makes any fuss.  He will just be quiet in anyone’s arms and will not cry or complain ever unless he is hungry or wet
