Vela Mayor

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

We went outside Madrid, around 20 minutes away to visit some friends in Majadahonda.  They took us to this restaurant in the neighborhood.  We enjoyed very much!

Asador Aranduero

By | Foodie | No Comments

One more stop before finally going home!  We passed by Madrid!!  And our first evening there, we went to one of our favorites!  Heart2Heart likes lamb, most especially the chuletitias.  Dad and Mom also always goes here, so even the head waiter recognized them and vise versa

The chorizo and croquettas to start with is so yummy!!! And of course sangria to go with everything for us

Cordero al Horno!  Very good!!!

And the chuletitias!!  They look plenty but there is really very little around the bone

El Mosquito

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

As I said, we went further than where we were staying 🙂  From Baiona we travelled around 30 to 40 minutes to go to Vigo to have lunch.  We went to Plaza dela Piedra where there is a row of tapa bars

There are vendors outside selling fresh oysters 🙂

We did not eat there, instead we walked up some stairs and went to El Mosquito.  A popular shellfish restaurant

This place reminded us of our restaurant in Santander but it’s more spacious

Birthday Treat at Paseo Uno

By | Celebrations, Foodie | No Comments

Thank you Dette and Brenda for your every year birthday treat!!!  I am so happy we have a reason to get together because I enjoy being with them

This year we went to Paseo Uno which we really enjoyed.  So nice to bump into Isabelle Cang and Charisse Chuidian from the Mandarin Oriental

When you sit, they serve you this really good foccacia bread!  Which comes from the brick oven at the back of the dessert buffet

The Nilagang baka is a must! I told the girls that it must be a specialty because it is highlighted in one of the stations. So we all had it 🙂

I had one prawn tempura and asked for the tempura batter crisps 🙂

I love the grill station!!

They have different oils and different salts!

Hotel Maria Cristina

By | Accomodations, Homes and Interiors, Travel | No Comments

This was a feature supposedly in the San Sebastian series.  We visited this hotel which is supposedly the best in San Sebastian and it is 5 Star.  It is beautiful!  Though we preferred staying in our hotel because of the view

Parador de Baiona

By | Accomodations, Travel | No Comments

And finally our last stop of our gastronomic tour in Northern Spain – Baiona.  Always make sure you save the best for last 🙂  The thing is I noticed that we hardly stay in our hotel, we are always out!  We always want to go far from where we are 🙂  We need to learn to just stay and appreciate the hotel/parador

Open that curtain to see a beautiful view!!

The wind was so strong – we could not leave it open at night – but it was beautiful!
