Piandre Now Open in Bonifacio Global City

By | Beauty | One Comment

I thought I was young, but now I am feeling old 🙂  So many young and upcoming entrepreneurs and many of them are women!  I LOVE IT! 🙂  Meet Drea Zulueta, sister of my friend Peachy. Drea is now the General manager of Piandre with 13 salons all over the Metro!

This is their latest branch at Two Parkade Bldg. Ground floor 30th street corner 7th avenue

It’s beautiful!  Drea told me that she and her sister Aina did the interiors themselves and they travelled to China to source all the materials, mirrors, chairs and almost everything in the salon.  It’s a labor of love! 🙂

There are two private rooms
piandre-now-open-in-bonifacio-global-city-2.jpeg

And an area for men
piandre-now-open-in-bonifacio-global-city-11.jpeg

They also offer massages

I love the Virgin Mary displayed on top of the magazine rack

Tita Rosa is very picky about restrooms which is why in this salon there are 7 bathrooms here.  It’s compact sized restrooms but it’s very practical because they are strategically located –  in the men’s,  in the main area and in each of the spa rooms, it has its own bathroom, then a restroom for the staff.  I am happy it’s clean and Tita Rosa makes sure it stays that way

Aside from the salon business, they also distribute salon products!  One of their oldest brands is Keratin which is being sold in 150 salons in the country

Their latest brands are Macadamia Natural Oil
piandre-now-open-in-bonifacio-global-city-9.jpeg

and Rock Your Hair by Michael O Rourke.  When some people are trying to straighten their hair, there are some that want to give body to their flat hair 🙂  I love the colour pink and the jewelled heart on the bottles!!

Lakme is a Spanish line of haircare products.  Their main product is their colouring products that uses less ammonia and does not make your hair turn brassy or orange.  They also have shampoo, conditioner, mousse, etc

Massage promo!!

I love the location because it’s near restaurants and shops and importantly its right by a parking lot where you can park your car 🙂 How convenient is that?

Q Proudly Quezon Made

By | Foodie, Giving Back, Proud to be Pinoy!, Travel | 3 Comments

Another young and beautiful lady, Anna Villaraza Suarez.  Anna is the wife of one of the best friends of my youngest brother, Quito.  She is First lady to Governor Jayjay Suarez and helps him promote the people and the products of Quezon Province.  When JayJay became Governor in 2010, She would attend the annual week long Agri -exposition and the Nyugyugan Festival in Quezon where members of KALIPI ( Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina, of which she is the honorary chairperson ), farmers and fisherfolk would sell out all their good to buyers from manila and neighbouring towns.  She told me that they would sell a lot during the festival though she wants them to have continuous income throughout the year.   Anna visited the 39 municipalities and two cities of Quezon where she had the chance to taste and try the different food products made by the locals.  She says ” A lot of these products are excellent.  The packaging just needed improvement and the producers given market access.”  And this is how Q Proudly Quezon Made Products was born!   Ultimately the goal of Q is to establish a federation of Q product manufacturers in the province to sustain the production, promotion and marketing of the products

anna-suarez-q-quezon.JPG

One need not go far to taste the flavours of Quezon province.  Anna has brought them closer to us and has made them available for more people to try.  She branded the products under the Q label.  Anna did the minimalistic and clean looking logo.  ” We want the look to become more appealing to the Manila crowd, to upgrade the look of typical locally produced products.  It has to be attractive because we are carrying the name of the province and we want people to have a positive impression of Quezon Province as a whole.”  That statement alone tells me positive things about how the couple is running the province….and I like it! 🙂

Cocorose London

By | Fashion, What's New at Rustan's | 4 Comments

I am so happy to meet another young entrepreneur, Kim Lim!  Many businesses come about because we love a product and want to make it available in our country.  That is the story about Cocorose London in the Philippines.  Kim told me that she was pregnant when she was in London and she was looking for a comfortable shoe to wear

She discovered Cocorose, she bought many pairs and now it’s available in the Philippines!

I love ballet shoes and these ballet shoes are different from the others because

1.)  you can fold them!

2.)  The classic line is also made from lambskin leather which is similar to what Chanel, Lanvin, Balenciaga and other luxury European brands use

3.)  They are the only shoe that offers heel, sole and arch cushioning

4.)  Handmade discreet full soles are made with non-slip material, giving you a feminine yet sturdy grip on the ground

I love the packaging!  The box is so nice you won’t want to throw it!  It comes with a bag where you can fold the ballet flats and put it inside and then put in your handbag

The new Spring Summer collection is already out

Aside from the new collection being out, there are new features in the newer shoes.

The new shoes have a continuous or full sole 🙂

Loving my new pair of Cocorose ballet flats! They are so comfortable!!

Several years ago, in 2007,  Jigger presented to us for the first time, Century City.  When we listened to him and when he showed us his presentation, I remember very well I told him that I felt we were in Disneyland 🙂  The presentation was so high tech, it felt like we were entering a ride in Disneyland.  I also say it’s Disneyland because in their company- among the siblings together with Tito Joey and Tita Hilda – they will make their ideas come to life.  Sometimes you may think that the idea is out of this world and something you think is not possible – but they will make it happen!  That is the kind of person our friend, Jigger, is 🙂  He will get what he wants and he will make things happen! That’s why we love listening to him and he can go on and on….. and don’t underestimate him because it will come true

Congratulations Jigger and May!!
paris-returns-to-launch-the-paris-beach-club-at-azure-17.jpg

I noticed that though the presence and support of the entire family is there in every launch, they do not try to take attention away from their sibling.  If it’s Jigger’s project, they don’t try to grab attention and take centre stage from Jigger.  Same with Marco, if it is Aqua, Marco is centre stage.  I do not know if they do this purposely but it’s something I noticed and I admire them for this even more because I know all of them get a lot of attention from the press, from friends and family

Art in the Park 2014

By | Arts and Culture, Proud to be Pinoy! | No Comments

Looking forward to another art event by the Museum Foundation of the Philippines!  It was nice to hear about the upcoming Art in the Park from no other than Trickie Colayco Lopa

trickie-colayco.JPG

And Nanette Reyes.  This year,  it will only be a one day event but it will cover the whole park including the area of the Salcedo Market and it will have longer hours. And there will be a total of 58 exhibitors versus 43 of last year so there will definitely be lots of new things to see this year!

Beautiful Maxine Syjuco of Art Lab is an artist from a family of artists 🙂  She will also have an installation of mixed media
