Chinese Food in Queensway

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

It’s always more practical to go Chinese when you are in a big group!!  And it’s always a must anywhere in the world we go – we still have to have Chinese food 🙂  And in London,  Filipino intelligence tells me that Any Chinese restaurant in Queensway in the Bayswater area is good!  Mandarin Kitchen, Four Seasons, New Fortune Cookie, Kamtong etc etc.  We ate in Royal China 🙂  I have no interior photos because I am not so happy with the ambience but the food is yummy!! 🙂  I know some people who come here and just stay and eat all day! 🙂

My favourites as usual are the fried stuff 🙂  Shredded Chili beef – a bit different from the others I have tried in other Chinese restaurants and I like the presentation 🙂

Previous entry:  Bibury Trout Farm at the Cotswolds July 10, 2014

Whether you will fish or not, as long as you enter, you have to pay 🙂  We passed through the back which leads to the trout farm

As soon as we entered, it started to rain 🙁  But we were able to catch one fish 🙂 img_6525.JPG

Whatever you catch you have to pay for and bring back with you

The Cotswolds

By | Travel | One Comment

The Cotswolds is around an hour and a half away from London.  It’s not so far because the drive towards there is beautiful

Ancient limestone houses – The Cotswolds is one of the most quintessentially English and unspoiled regions of England.  Awarded consecutively for the most beautiful village in Europe

The Wild Rabbit

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

In the Cotswolds, we had lunch at The Wild Rabbit, recommended by Suharto and Rina.  This restaurant is about to be awarded a Michelin Star soon.

Love the rabbit topiaries and the greens on the limestone building

First time to see a Dog Parking 🙂  Cute 🙂

I love the feel of the place.  So homy and cozy.  There is a pub

and bedrooms to stay in as well

We came to dine. Love the place!! So pretty!! My dream is to have a Filipiniana house and if I had a second choice, I want a country home – cottage style like this!!  These stones keeps it cozy and cool inside and I think it will work well in the Philippines since it’s warm all year round.  I like the neutral colours which is still bright and gives a happy ambience and feel.  Heart2Hearts type 🙂

Rabbits everywhere 🙂

Crisp Pigs Head Croquette

Wye Valley Asparagus

Crab and Scallop Canneloni

Dry Aged Sirloin Steak with the bone

It came with choices of sides – this is Bone Marrow and horseradish butter and Bernaise sauce

Interesting Bone marrow and horseradish butter 🙂

Driving to the Countryside

By | Green, Nature, Travel | No Comments

Aside from the millions of things you can do in the city of London, there is so much more to explore outside the city!!!!  Castles, towns, and all of them beautiful!!  I really need to live here or come more often! 🙂

Just driving and looking at the views is already a natural high for Heart2Heart.  Again everywhere you pass is always so clean, organized and always in place.  I took these photos while the car was moving so it might not be too clear.

Rapeseed fields which they use to make rapeseed oil

As we arrived in the Cotswolds area, the roads became very narrow.  Quite scary if another car was coming from the other side.  But how beautiful the sides of the road!!!!

It changes as you go along

We stopped first at Burford an old town

It’s always more fun with good friends 🙂

This was my favorite!!

Home Cooking in London

By | Foodie, Recipes, Travel | No Comments

I am so glad we had a lot of home cooking in London 🙂 It’s worth it to rent a flat in London than stay in a hotel.  Another advantage is you can cook 🙂  Too expensive to eat out all the time 🙂

Of course we have Mom’s inherited adobo recipe from Lola Glecy.  Good comfort food whenever hungry and craving for Pinoy food

homecooking-in-london1.jpeg

Chistorra chorizo from the Borough Market 🙂  cooked for breakfast and fried rice made out of the chorizo oil

homecooking-in-london2.jpeg

Spaghetti Bolognese made by my sister in law, Margs!! So yummy!!!!  I need to ask for the recipe!  She makes this for the kids, but I am the one eating it 🙂

homecooking-in-london3.JPG

Yum!!! So easy to cook!! Just fry straight from the freezer.  Fried is better than baked

homecooking-in-london4.JPG

Foie gras from Borough Market 🙂

homecooking-in-london5.jpeg

Interruption.  Mom’s sign in the dining room 🙂

homecooking-in-london6.jpeg

This is my recipe!  It has to be simple 🙂  I just bought all the ingredients and put them all together 🙂  I love it that you can buy the meringue in nice shapes already and abundance of fresh mixed berries are valuable to me even if in Europe or in the States its relatively cheap compared to buying it here in Manila

homecooking-in-london7.jpeghomecooking-in-london8.jpeg

Raclette Yum 😉

homecooking-in-london9.jpeg

Duck A L’Orange from Marks and Spencer was good 🙂 Just follow heating instructions

Carbonara again for the kids by Mommy Margs

homecooking-in-london12.JPG

This was the trout we caught in Bibury Trout Farm in the Cotswolds!! Mom made it into Sinigang.  She bought the sinigang mix and bagoong in the Filipino store in Earls Court.  The Dagupan Bagoong is so good!!!!  Where can we buy that here???
