By | Tributes | No Comments

Last December, I featured my brother, Noey Lopez, as one of the Ayala Land 25 Stories.

Previous entry:  Ayala Land Features Noey Lopez and Starbucks December 7, 2013

Today I am happy in tears to see this version!!!

[embedyt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2zBEaC_HLo[/embedyt]

Thank you to my friend, Maritina Romulo, for sharing this other video with me!!!  This is my favourite video out of the 25 because it proves that you don’t have to be such a high profile personality,  or be a magnate, or be a rich person, or be the President of the country to be recognised for your efforts and to make a difference in the lives of many.  Thank you Ayala Land for choosing Francis!!!  I  featured him when I saw him last year in May when I ate in Prince Albert

Our family loves Francis and we grew up with him and with Prince Albert ever since I can remember.

To my friend, Maritina, Let me say that many people are proud to serve your grandfather, Carlos P. Romulo, but I am very sure, Francis treated every single customer as if they were General Carlos P. Romulo.

And it’s true Francis, We go to Prince Albert because of you 🙂  And you will always be an icon at the Intercontinental Hotel and Prince Albert will always be remembered together with you

Anonymous

By | Arts and Culture | No Comments

Last  August 31st  at J Studio was a unique art appreciation and acquisition experience called Anonymous.

According to Jia Santos Estrella, “We have invited some of your favorite artists to show their latest creations side by side with up and coming artists and artists hoping to break into the active and vibrant contemporary art scene. But, unlike regular art shows, we have added the element of anonymity to spice up your afternoon. We have asked the artists not to sign their works * and to paint in a different style or try a different medium to express their art.

In the weeks leading up to this show we have seen some of the works produced and believe the artists really took this challenge to heart. We hope you keep an open mind and heart in appreciating and selecting the next piece or pieces for your collection. Trust your instinct and honor the artists’ effort by acquiring their works sans their famous signatures. Of course the artists and

J Studio will certify all works upon acquisition. Only then will the artist be revealed to you and will no longer remain ANONYMOUS.”

Anonymous (1)

We enjoyed this art exhibit so much!  The suspense in not knowing who the artist is and appreciating the work anonymously 🙂  I personally liked 4 works, but it was already reserved when I got there.  I am looking forward to the next one!  Come on over if you still haven’t.  The show is until September 14Anonymous (33)Even the guests are anonymous 🙂  Try to guess who these art aficionados are Anonymous (4)Anonymous (5)Anonymous (7)Anonymous (28)Anonymous (8)Anonymous (22)Anonymous (18)Anonymous (21)Anonymous (24)Anonymous (20)Anonymous (12)Anonymous (6)Anonymous (13)Anonymous (9)Anonymous (29)Anonymous (15)Anonymous (3)Anonymous (14)Anonymous (30) Anonymous (2)Anonymous (16)Anonymous (23)Anonymous (31)Anonymous (25)Anonymous (26) Anonymous (10) Anonymous (32)Anonymous (17)Anonymous (11)Anonymous (19)Anonymous (27)[email_link]

Filipinaz Art and Fashion Fair 2014

By | Arts and Culture, Fashion, Giving Back, Shopping | No Comments

So happy to always see Tita Maritess in many events, mostly art events but also in events that patronize our very own. There are some people I know who are so passionate about promoting our very own and Tita Maritess is one of them. Thank you Tita, we need more people like you Aside from being a Board of Director of MaARTe, she is also instrumental as Chairman, FilipinaZ Arts and Fashion Fair in another foundation, The Zonta Cub of Makati and Environs Foundation Inc. ( ZCME )
Art and Fashion Fair On September 12 to 14 at the Rockwell Tent
She told me that this shopping event will merge fashion and art. Beside her in this photo is a Limited edition Joy Mallari titled Ligaw 2006, The original is in the Pinto Museum and there will be 15 of these for sale

Maritess Pineda Zonta Filipinaz 2014

The ZCME is known for staging an annual fundraising activity in order to generate funds to support its projects, to wit: training disadvantaged women in livelihood skills and thereafter providing them with microcredit for their microbusiness, providing them with free Pap smear tests and breast-cancer screening, advising them on their legal rights, rehabilitating sexually-abused girls aged 6 to 17 in a haven in Marillac Hills, etc.  For this year, the Fair will highlight creations featuring designers, artisans, creative entrepreneurs and the like. It further intends to mobilize, sensitize and most importantly, empower women.

I also met a young boy (17 yrs old) Francisco Coching the IV. In the photo is his Dad and manager, Pam Banoi. Francisco rolls masking tape and makes them into beautiful works of art. He told me he would do this when he gets bored in class 🙂 The eagle in the photo took him two months to make and if you look close there is so much detail in it. What a unique form of art!! He is the grandson of National artist for a Visual Arts, Francisco V. Coching, the illustrator
