These photographs are now part of Celestina crocodile leather bags which will not only be sold here but in New York and Hong Kong. Proceeds from the sale of the bags will go to Teach for the Philippines Organization The artworks of Memory Stains are interpretations of photographer, Jay Yao, using the 4 Filipino sauces and are now part of the Celestina bags.
Jay Yao (Jose Campos III) started photography in 1997 and has produced works in different forms for 17 years.
In 2005, He represented the Philippines for the Goethe-Insitut project “Art Connexions: SYD – MLA – KUL.” Yao’s “Homecoming” series was nominated and short-listed for the Ateneo Art Awards in 2014. 20 % of the proceeds from the sales of the Memory Stains bags will go to Teach for the Philippines. Founded in August 2012 by Lizzie E. Zobel, Margarita L. Delgado, and Clarissa Isabelle Delgado, Teach for the Philippines stands on the shoulders of giants: the Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation, which focused on functional literacy for over a decade and Teach for All, a global network of social enterprises working towards education reform.
