Chef Vicky Tinio told me about this place – a friend of hers who also opened up his house for dining, It’s called Foggy Mountain House and it was really foggy 🙂 that night we went there. We were hoping to catch the sunset at 530pm but it was really very foggy. If you do decide to come over, best to come at round 5 to 530pm for sunset and to appreciate the view. It’s a very casual and cozy place in Baguio to have a Mediterranean meal.
Same direction to Bencab Museum but further down Naguilian road.
Quite a steep driveway to get to the house – Fog in the view 🙂
Make sure to book this table by the balcony – it is the best seat in the house
Here he is! Babes Reyes of Foggy Mountain Cookhouse –
he has a brick oven to cook the meats,
living room with a Cacnio artwork and his balcony and front porch as dining area
As usual I went inside the spy 🙂 Love old Baguio homes!!!! the cozyness and charm!!
And here is Babes cooking our food
So happy to meet this kind gentleman who is a good friend of Chef Vicky Tinio. He is a self taught chef who wanted to leave the corporate world and be his own boss. His cooking is casual Mediterranean with influences from Morocco and Greece where he traveled
Love what he did with the garbanzos ! He toasted it with some spice which tasted so good! Ask him and he will tell you how he made it! He gave me some extra pieces – YUM!
Our dinner on the ref door. Babes is so conservative he does not want food to go to waste – I am like that too!! But I ordered and told him we wanted to try more so we added to this list!
Interesting drink -Cinnamon with pineapple
SALAD
Mixed greens topped with black olives and feta cheese. Fresh orange juice or mango vinaigrette
Crispy Squid Fries at Foggy Mountain Cookhouse – the squid is from Canada and it’s so tender. YUM!!!! Babes told me that he doesn’t like serving French fries instead he serves mashed potato ….. thick strips of giant squid…with dill tartar sauce…served with truffle oil infused mashed potatoes…Like eating Crispy scallops!!! TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE TRADITIONAL CALAMARES!
Chicken parmesan pie (new dish)
Thigh fillet seasoned with parmesan cheese.. pan fried…with fresh tomato and basil sauce ….layered with motzzarella cheese..topped with herbs and polenta and parmesan cheese…oven roasted for that crusty luscious pie goodness! YUMMY!!!!!!!!
Porcheta
Rolled boneless pork belly seasoned with Mediterranean herbs. In red wine reduction sauce and raisins. Served with Spanish brown rice. My version of Italian roast pork. Crispy skin, juicy meat!
Brick oven roasted boneless leg of lamb
Lamb slow roasted on brick oven.. marinated overnight in Moroccan spices. Served with Middle Eastern veggies. Drizzled with feta cheese and lemon zest salsa.
Fish fillet fried in olive oil. Topped with medley of tomatoes, basil and black olives in olive oil. Topped with parmesan cheese – SUPER YUM!!!
The boys loved this and it disappeared in less than a minute! Grilled Chipotle Pork Chop.
One inch thick pork chop marinated in chipotle spices and honey. Served with roasted potatoes. Southwestern flavor- a must try!
Pumpkin pie puree topped with roasted mallows served with whipped cream….delicious..not so decadent!

Rica….this was totally unexpected! Maraming Salamat! God bless you…
Ms. Rica, my college friends and I had been there 3x. Each time was a different wonderful experience. Great food matched with the best buddies, fine dining, very hospitable chef and the excellent ambience – put them all – you’ll have nothing but a memory that will last a lifetime! We keep on coming back! No experience is the same.
