In 2005, we went to Sapporo to see the Snow Festival! It was beautiful!!
So this year, we joined the group to go back and check it out again 🙂 I thought this year was not outstandingly great compared to the ones I saw before. But having it for 67 years already means maybe we missed nice ones too in the past. Hoping that they can be more creative for the future – like maybe structures you can enter 🙂 and maybe bigger displays 🙂
My two favourite ones were this
This one 🙂 Love the gang!
And this one – The Ruins of St. Paul’s – refers to the ruins of a 16th-century complex in Macau including what was originally St. Paul’s College and the Church of St. Paul also known as “Mater Dei”, a 17th-century Portuguese church dedicated to Saint Paul the Apostle. Today, the ruins are one of Macau’s best known landmarks. They are often, but incorrectly, mentioned as a former cathedral, a status they never had. In 2005, they were officially listed as part of the Historic Centre of Macau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. ( wiki)
Where they had skiers doing stunts
Dragon Ball
Their Eiffel Tower which is not a display 🙂
Smaller displays
The slide by Nissin is very popular with such a long line!!
The International section where you see them actually carving their snow structures
We went to Ice World which is a few streets away
This time it’s ice carvings. My favourite ones were the ones with seafood inside 🙂
I heard that is real Sapporo beer inside!
Hibiki Ice Bar
Photo Op 🙂 Good thing I have a model 🙂
