PRESENT
CAMPO DEL NIEVO. The people living in Verona say they are going to play “at the Nievo”. It is one of the city’s historic football fields, close to the city walls and near the San Giorgio complex. Franklin & Marshall has turned the dusty playing terrain into a synthetic surface for the local children to use whenever they want as they have free access to it. And in this way cherish their dreams of glory.
BRIGANTI DI LIBRINO. They snatched the San Teodoro field away from neglect and dereliction and made rugby and hope grow. They are called Briganti di Librino and they fight in one of the toughest neighbourhoods of Catania as they try to teach lawfulness and offer the local boys an alternative to juvenile deliquincy. With an oval ball and a smile.
PAST
FRANKLIN FOR AFRICA. A T-shirt to help the Salesians in Ethiopia. This is how Franklin & Marshall started up an aid programme for those who have been working in one of the planet’s poorest areas since 1975. All proceeds from the sale were donated to charity because Franklin for Africa is more than a simple T-shirt. It is rather a message of hope and growth for a future that can be pursued with work and studying, as well as through sports, competition and playing.
WORLD FOOD PROGRAM. Franklin & Marshall supported the WFP “Fill the Cup campaign. The name of the initiative was taken from the plastic cups that are widely used to serve porridge and other foods supplied by the WFP to the schools in developing countries. That is because today food in schools is a powerful network of social protection for children and their families, it improves living conditions and represents an investment in human capital from the nutritional, health, education and equality of the sexes viewpoints.
In the Philippines, Franklin & Marshall is exclusively available at Rustan’s Shangri-La and Rustan’s Makati.
