Sergio Rossi makes a fresh start with a completely new management team, seeking to return its identity to its former glory and place the emphasis back on the brand’s quality, craftsmanship and authenticity.
The first step concerns the product: the company plans to shift from evening wear to a bright, modern and versatile idea of daywear. The focus of the creative process will no longer be on fashion trends, but rather on the longevity of footwear. Little by little, the company will flesh out an ideal collection for each season, breaking free of convention to create elegant, practical and light footwear—an eclectic classic that transcends age, use or function.The company will continue fostering the craftsmanship culture at the facility in San Mauro Pascoli, where 110 craft professionals pass on their expertise through the generations. The creative team has started a new relationship with them based on savoir-faire, so as to study and bring Sergio Rossi’s invaluable historical archive into the present.
After the presentation of the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, the Company will extend the new strategy to the international retail network (both mono brand and wholesale channels) by introducing a new communication and distribution project to restore the credibility and relevance of Sergio Rossi’s legacy and tradition.
The digital aspect will be the red thread that weaves Sergio Rossi’s new deal together—from the design and creation of collections to their presentation and viral marketing through social media. The creative, productive and distribution process will take place both online and offline thanks to a young, fast and versatile team open and receptive to constant change.

The Sergio Rossi woman is grounded in both reality and fantasy. The heel is mainly low and supports a new creation, part moccasin and part slipper, that seeks to establish a new aesthetic of comfort and elegance. The inspiration is a model from the historical archive, with square lines dating back to the 1990s – a golden era for Sergio Rossi.The finishes are made of gold or silver. The uppers range from the minimalist to the luxurious, as in a musical crescendo rife with details (baguettes, tinted glass, mirror effects, ethnic and jungle nods). A subtle “sr1” is micro-engraved on the heels – the essence and symbol of an ideal collection to be fleshed out over time. The 6cm heel is back, thin in profile and imposing from the back, lifting sabots and sandals while remaining firmly grounded in reality. The presentation of the collection was conceived as a performance, a celebration of rebirth.
