Everyday we went to the onsen in Hoshinoya Resort for a 15 minute dip in the hot spring. The one in the resort is included in your stay and there is another public onsen nearby the resort which is different because it has an outdoor view. The one in the resort in enclosed
We just stayed in the resort. They provide a robe that you can use around the resort and it really keeps you warm even if it’s so light with socks and wooden slippers.
I have no onsen photos because it’s not allowed so this is what i have 🙂 – Anyway i have a story to share and i hope you will share this with others who might benefit from it – For the past 3 months i have been taking anti inflammatory medicines 2-3 x a day everyday to relieve discomfort from my head coming from my injured spine. I try to avoid meds like a plague but i had no choice. My essential oils was not enough for this case. Last Dec. 31 we arrived at Hoshinoya Resort in Karuizawa. I knew there was an onsen and as soon as i arrived my mom accompanied me to the onsen. After 15 minutes of onsen- that day i did not have to take my meds anymore! The next 2 days we were there i went twice a day to make the most out of our stay. ( i couldn’t do longer than 2 sessions because it was too hot and my body was not used to it. ) Thanks to my mom for accompanying me !You will not believe the healing properties of hot springs until it heals you. You won’t really know unless you have something that needs healing. But this is a true story. To me it’s a miracle and a blessing! i was so scared because my doctor said i could take the meds up to 3 months and January 8 was my 3rd month deadline and i would have had to go see my doctor in Singapore. So far i have not needed to take the meds since Dec.31!! I’m sharing this because it might help some people.
I searched online for the benefits of onsen/hot springs -sharing it here as well. This is the reason i always go to an onsen in any place that has one esp in Japan! I have been maybe to 8 onsens even when we were kids. We would be so embarrassed when we go together haha!!! If so, just don’t go at the same time haha!!
