En route to Colombo from Galle, we stopped by to visit Lunuganga @geoffery.bawa.lunuganga , the rest home of the late Geoffrey Bawa.  The main house is kept private for the people staying there.  I was able to go in my mistake and took a few photos.  So the tour is really the gardens.

*****

Started in 1947, the garden led Bawa, a lawyer called to the Bar at the Inner Temple in 1940, to decide to become an architect.
Lunuganga is now a Trust since Geoffrey didnt have any heirs. It’s a boutique hotel and the gardens are open to the public. It offers guests a rare opportunity to step inside the private life of one of the world’s most celebrated architects. Geoffrey Bawa bought this former rubber estate in 1948 to craft into his garden idyll. After decades of careful, exquisite, creative thought and design, the home and grounds have become his legacy, a wondrous, inspiring place. #geoffreybawa #lunuganga#srilankrew #srilankainstyle #h2hinteriors
