Marchesa Notte SS20 Collection The Marchesa Notte Spring Summer 2020 collection draws inspiration from 18 th century French painter Francois-Hubert Drouais’ portrait of an Elegant Lady. A leading portrait painter of the Renaissance, Drouais’ sumptuous costumes, richly decorated interiors and lush garden settings are disctinctive features of his best works. The depth of texture and rich but muted color palette of dove, lavender, and fuchsia inspired this season’s original fabrications of 3D garden motifs, textural painterly wisteria prints, and baroque bouquet sequins. Drouais was known to gracefully capture the inner life of his subjects. With this in mind, each dress is carefully designed with every detail being considered for its wearer, resulting in a finished garment complimentary of every Notte woman’s innermost beauty. Noteworthy updates to the classic Notte silhouettes include a draped duchess satin ball gown adorned with handcrafted floral corsages, offered alongside fully embroidered tulle gowns encrusted in beaded ivy and wildflowers crafter from feathers. A playful sequin polka dot can be found in a soft ruffled ball gown or a flirty form-fitting ruched cocktail. Gold and platinum gardenias in the form of flocked glitter that shimmer on tulle gowns. Satin ribbons and organza flowers are finishing touches.
