Thank you Mike and Reena for inviting us to try your new restaurant!  Ganso Shabuway is one of their favorite restaurants in San Francisco and because they like it so much, they brought it back home to share it with all of us here in the Philippines!  They will be on soft opening starting tomorrow so come on over and try Ganso Shabuway!!

Eiichi Mochizuki, owner of Ganso Shabuway in the Bay Area.  He told me he has 3 branches – San Mateo, Mountain View and San Jose.  Soon he will be opening in San Francisco.  Philippines will be his first International branch!

Reena’s daughter, Camille, is the manager of the restaurant. I thought Camille was Japanese 🙂  It’s nice that the business is all in the family.  Good luck and more power to you Mike, Reena and Camille!  Looking forward to your other store openings – next one in Alabang Town Center!

We came for the tasting so this was the menu for us

Reena suggested we get half traditional seaweed broth and half spicy broth- GOOD IDEA!  I am a traditional person when it comes to beef, I don’t like to put too much taste from other things – just want to taste the beef.  James liked the spicy!  Thank goodness for the half and half 🙂

2 sauces – Ponzu and Sesame Sauce

The staff said to put the green onion and carrots on the ponzu sauce and then the garlic on the sesame sauce ganso-shabuway-015.jpg

I liked the sesame and James liked the ponzu…we are opposites 🙂

Eiichi explained to me that the beef is Natural Angus and is different from Certified Angus. Natural Angus is corn fed while Certified is grass fed.  Their beef is from Nebraska and is free from hormones and antibiotics.
