The end of summer for FCUK sees a return to the original design spirit when the brand was founded in the70’s – prints are rustic and ethnic, the silhouette is free and flowing while elegant evening wear takes inspiration from Studio 54.
Tops, dresses and jumpsuits in cotton and silk are key in playful prints and washed out summer hues,transformed into evening wear in silk with eclectic embellishment. Harem silhouette pants in silk, cheesecloth and jersey echo the relaxed beatnik vibe. Beachwear is given a new retro design with ruffles,prints and bows in an array of bold block colours or playful prints with matching cotton playsuits, maxi dresses and off the shoulder smocks.
Old Copy indigo shorts provide a strong base palette at the start of the season, mixing with pale summer blues and a flash of ‘frenchie’ pink for a hint of afresh summer feel. The mood is classic elegance,with a quirky English preppy twist–small motifs on jumpers and cardigans adding a studious edge to summer style. July and August 2011 for FCUK sees the return of the British Gent – the collection is clean, simple and classic updated with subtle design elements. Shirts are key with updated colour cuts in clean white,chambray and gingham checks, worn with tailored shorts and wider cut chinos in stone and muted summer hues. T-shirts and polo shirts are striped or given abstract prints. It’s about refined, classic style.
