Thank you John and Peachy for inviting us to your new restaurant!!! We love love tonkatsu!! and we are very happy that finally there is an authentic Japanese tonkatsu restaurant now in the Philippines!!!! We don’t have to go all the way to Japan anymore to have it!! Please open in Makati also so we can have it more often!!!
Congratulations and More power to you!!!!
[ Did you notice all those exclamation points out of excitement? 🙂 ]
John told us that in one of his trips to Japan ( Osaka ) he and his kids tried a tonkatsu restaurant and loved it, so they wanted to bring it back here to the Philippines!! John also told us about the Yabu experience
Love the shirts of the servers!!
The secret lies in its fresh, quality ingredients and method of cooking that has been passed on by Chef Kazuya Takeda – head chef of Tonkatsu Takeshin, a popular tonkatsu restaurant in Tokyo. Chef Takeda is Yabu’s expert consultant on all things katsu.
A bowl of sesame seeds is presented to the diner with instructions to grind them. The bowl has grooves on them to help grind the seeds.
Then you pour and mix the katsu sauce
Kurobota US Premium pork, also known as the Berkshire Black Pig. Kurobota pork is the “kobe beef” of the pork world. It is pink and heavily marbled making for a succulent and juicy cutlet that literally melts in your mouth. We are definitely going back to try this!!! This is the ULTIMATE TONKATSU!!
They have Rosu and Hire pork which is 3/4 inches thick.
These are the local pork. Rosu being the one with more fat and which we all love 🙂
and Hire being more lean
Unlimited cabbage!! 🙂
Loved the scallops which is flown all the way from Japan!!! I was not able to try the oysters and prawns but everyone was raving about it. The oysters are also fresh from Japan
Love it that they have kids meals
And in case you want to add more and not get the complete set, you can get additional pieces on its own!
Opening TODAY!!! TRY IT!!!
