Magnum Ice Cream Bigger and Better in 2013

2012 was the year of Magnum. Magnum’s hype and online buzz quickly spread throughout social media websites making it a trending topic thereby creating the term “Magnum Marketing”. Those who’ve tried it recommended it proudly and those who have yet to rushed to the nearest store just to say they’ve tried it. Magnum was so huge it was the number one searched food item on Google in 2012. Made of the finest Belgian chocolate, and rich velvety ice cream in four different flavors – classic, almond, chocolate truffle, and choco cappuccino – Magnum has made its mark as the premium ice cream brand in the market. 

This year the Magnum family is expanding. At the recent launch held at URBN Bar and Kitchen, Magnum revealed its new Chocolatier Collection: with Magnum Chocolate Brownie, and Magnum Chocolate & Strawberry. With two unique new flavors Magnum is offering a more pleasurable and exciting experience to suit one’s personal preference.

Magnum VIP Party: A Night for Pleasure Seekers

Magnum Ice Cream kicked off the year with its exclusive VIP Party last February 26, 2013. Manila’s socialites gathered for a night of decadence and surprises held at the sprawling grounds of a private residence in McKinely road, Forbes Park, Makati.

Upon crossing the foyer flutes of champagne and glasses of red and white sangria awaited the thirsty guests. Waiters weaved through the crowds carrying trays of assorted canapés. While several buffet tables catered by Cibo’s Margarita Fores served a delicious spread of jamon, mozzarella arugula sandwiches, salad, and truffle cream pasta.

Every inch of the home and garden was decorated with urban chic aesthetics. Neon lights, multicolored block furniture, and hanging umbrella lanterns added a touch of whimsy to the event.

As guests poured in pre show entertainment was provide by the sounds of DJ Emel Rowe and the smooth and soulful voices of Chris Cayzer and Jessica Connelly.

Upon the arrival of the Magnum’s brand ambassadors Erwann Heussaff, Rajo Laurel, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, Raymond Gutierrez, Liz Uy and Solenn Heussaff guests were led to the main stage where the program was held.

The Brand Ambassadors hit the stage sharing their thoughts on Magnum and their favorite flavors leading up to the reveal of the newest brand ambassador. The crowd was no longer left guessing as the fog from the smoke machine cleared and the statuesque figure of Georgina Wilson emerged. Excited to be a part of the Magnum family Georgina also introduced Magnum’s two new flavors, Chocolate Brownie and Chocolate & Strawberry.

The highlight of the night was when guests were treated to an exclusive performance from New York rapper, Azealia Banks. Serving up songs from her 1991 and Fantasea EPs highlights of the performance included Banks’ Harlem Shake remix, and hit singles Liqourice and 212. Veering away from her set list Banks surprised the crowd with an acapella version of Amy Winehouse’s Valerie proving that the sharp-tongued MC also possessed some vocal prowess. Although the set lasted a short 45 minutes it gave Manila’s young and hip a sampler of the MCs beats and sly rhymes which left the crowd dancing and wanting more.

With the mood set high after the performance guests continued to party the night away. Trays of ice serving all Magnum Ice Cream flavors were served as the beats of popular Manila DJ, Euric Lumanog provided entertainment well into the wee hours of the morning. 

With Magnum’s reputation of throwing some of the most exclusive and lavish parties its one-year anniversary VIP Party was no exception. With the year just beginning people can expect even bigger things to come from Magnum this 2013.
