Thank you for this feature, Rica. We are inspired to keep working towards the upliftment of the lives of so many Filipinos, men, women and children when we see the kind of support, people like you are willling to give us.
Thank you for featuring Merchants of Hope. We in Negros are overwhelmed by the love and support that we have received in behalf of the poor in the countryside. More than two decades ago, when my province was in crisis, we launched the Star of Hope Project with the slogan “Isang Parol, Isang Buhay” to help the hungry and the poor of our province which was in crisis. Then we saw the beauty of the Filipino spirit as hundreds of thousands of Star of Hope parols were lit in homes, on the streets, outside multi-story buildings..in solidarity with the province that was on its knees. We have learned, perhaps only too slowly, but we continue to help provide skills and craft training for our people so they can spring forth products beyond sugar. All these help the poor, slowly but surely. Thank you again for your support. We can only pay you with the smiles from the hearts of the children whom we serve.
