Thanks Jay for sending me the menu and some photos. Taking photos of menus are the most difficult task for me.
On special occassions, we go to Tsukiji. Tsukiji is one of our favorites. We particularly like the Yakiniku part of the restaurant and the sushi and sashimi. We were happy to see Malou that evening.
Tsukiji is owned by the Gamboa family who also own and operate:

We were deciding where to eat for Lucille’s birthday but we insisted that we wanted her to cook for us again. So, we invited ourselves over to her house and had the birthday celebrant cook for us on her birthday! 🙂
It was of course a delicious lunch! However, since Lucille decided to have a sit down lunch rather than buffet ( which she did last year ), she kept going in and out of the kitchen to prepare the food to be served. So I do not know if this is a good idea, because we did not really get to talk to the birthday celebrant.
Happy Birthday Lucille!! And do know that we will travel anywhere no matter how far just so we can eat what you cook and bake for us!

Over the holidays as I was in the Christian Dior cosmetics counter at Rustan’s Makati I saw this pretty girl who apparently works as a make up artist for Dior. In a few seconds I heard her talk and was surprised to hear a masculine voice. So i asked the other girl in the counter there if she was a “he” and it was confirmed that “he” was the “she” that i thought. I could not believe it!
I just had to take a photo and share this with you. Meet Aiko! Aiko willingly posed for me. You can meet Aiko and see for yourself! First level, Christian Dior cosmetics counter at Rustan’s Makati. She/He is REAL!

Christmas Day dinner is a bigger celebration with Lola Charing ( Celebrating Christmas – Visiting Lola January 5, 2009 ). It is a joint celebration with all her sisters and their family. Lola has 5 sisters. Lola Pacit passed away a few years ago and Lola Mameng was not able to join this years celebration so she is not in the photo.
Lola Charing, Lola Nena, Lola Nenet and Lola Lita
I admire my Lola and her sisters! They are so close! They are inseparable! They are not only sisters, but they are best friends! They see each other all the time not to mention, they built their houses right next to each other. They travel together also until now.
I overheard my Lola Charing arriving that evening and she saw one of her sisters and she said ” I love you guid!” And I am sure they just saw each other before that or the day before….I found that so cute of her! 🙂
And another amazing fact is that 3 of the sisters married 3 brothers, so three of them have the same family names.
So you can imagine how big our extended family is! AND IT IS SO MUCH FUN! 🙂
The Charing Lopez apos…..we are so happy to see Rissa and Empress for Christmas!
Food from Lola’s restaurant, Sousaku ( Sousaku July 1, 2007 and Happy Birthday Margs Sept. 12, 2008 ). Yummy! Of course, patronize your own 🙂
After visiting Lola Charing ( Celebrating Christmas- Visiting Lola ), we go to Lolo Benny.
If there is one day in the year that Lolo makes sure that he is in the country to spend time with the family, it is on Christmas Day. No matter where in the world he is, he makes sure to come home to celebrate Christmas Day with us. So you can imagine how special this day is for us, so, we too make sure we celebrate with him.
Christmas is the most important day of the year as it is the birthday of Christ….it is a GRAND celebration!
Last year Tita Nena took care of the preparations, and this year it was Tita Len. Mom is claiming to take her turn already 🙂
Previous entry: Noche Buena – December 30, 2007
We always start with a mass…
Father Caluag
Then we have Noche Buena
Then at midnight we open our gifts
Then when Lolo goes to sleep and some of the parents leave, the grandkids have Bingo games…everyone makes sure to wait for this to win some prizes 🙂

After dinner ( Celebrating Christmas- Dinner ) we head out to Lola Charing’s house for Noche Buena. For the past two years we have been going early to greet Lola. We usually go after midnight and get to see the cousins but due to conflict in schedules, we have to come earlier. The most important thing is that we want to and make sure that we greet Lola for Christmas…
Lola always prepares noche buena…with the help of Tita Rose, we are fortunate to partake of her yummy preparations
Tita Rose prepares this really special and unique fruit salad! IT IS THE BEST!! It is frozen and I taste some queso de bola cheese in it! YUMMY!!! Even if I am satisfied from dinner, I still make sure I eat this during our visit to Lola
And she makes a YUMMY hot chocolate which everyone also makes sure they drink
Just the beginning of our Christmas Tradition….Dinner on the eve of Christmas

I enjoyed doing this christmas promotion for Starbucks! I stuck this magnetic red cup on top of my car which made it look like I forgot my cup on top of my roof. So, you can imagine everyone who saw it and were panicking that it would fall off. There were many reactions – panic looks, some just stare at it, others try to call my attention…and the best reaction is the SMILE after they find out…I wish I could have captured all the moments, but I was driving most of the time so it was quite difficult to take photos.
Heart2Heart loves Starbucks! Because whenever there is Starbucks, there is CHEER! There is LAUGHTER! There is a feeling of warmth and comfort! Whenever there is Starbucks…There is LOVE and JOY!
In Manila Polo Club
Mostly all the guards called my attention…after awhile…it was like I was “the boy who cried wolf!” 🙂 But what was nice was that everytime I would pass the guards, they would always SMILE 🙂
Even Dad called my attention 🙂

This guy was really really worried!! I am glad I took his photo

Hmmm…cousins all coming out of the house to see the red cup…Ria must have told them 🙂
