Bread Pan

By | Household Tips, Yummy! | 4 Comments

I discovered a great idea from my good friend, Rina.  She served a tuna dip with some small bits of bread, it was not a crostini or a melba toast……..it was BREAD PAN by Oishi!

rinas-dish.jpg

One 45 gram pack costs P 5.75 and the 26 gram pack costs only P 3.50.  Definitely much cheaper than the crostinis you buy packed and much easier than making your own homemade version.  My kids love eating it as a snack even before I discovered what it could be used for other than just a snack.  It is very good with any kind of dip or spread.  It comes in three different flavors:  Buttered Toast, Cheese and Onion and Toasted Garlic

bpnbt.jpgbpnco.jpgbpntg.jpg

I saw something similar in Wellcome convenience store in Hong Kong under the Meiji brand ( japanese brand) but it costs HK$ 9.50 which is around P 60.00. I did not buy it so I was not able to taste it but the photo looked just like Bread Pan.

Stories on Philippine Art: Filipiniana As Couture with Patis Tesoro

stories-on-phil-art.jpgStories on Philippine Art: Filipiniana As Couture with Patis Tesoro
Date: 26 January 2008, Staurday
Time: 2-4 pm
Fees: Php 50.00 for students; PhP 100.00 for Museum Foundation
members; PhP 150.00 for non-Museum Foundation members

In the context of today’s globalized and wired world, success in asserting the indigenous in terms of materials used as well as the sensibility displayed in Philippine textiles continue to inspire.
One of the pioneers in such endeavors is Ms Patis Tesoro. Discovering that weaving of indigenous fabrics was in decline, Ms Tesoro sought to stem the tide by enhancing the fabrics’ competitiveness. Various blends and use of natural dyes provided relatively inexpensive alternatives, and Ms Tesoro’s innovative designs enabled people ot see Filipiniana in a new light. The talk jointly sponsored by the Lopez Memorial Museum and the Museum
Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. will be on January 26, Saturday, 2-4 pm, at the Lopez Memorial Museum.

Ms Patis Tesoro’s interpretation and adaptation of the Filipiniana to current fashion trends has earned for her a Parangal ng Bayan award from the Ateneo University, the Dakilang Pilipina award for Fashion from the Caloocan Jaycees, and th TOWNS award in 1992.

The Stories on Philippine Art lecture series aims to create more awareness of various personalities, art forms and practices in the country. For more information and for reservations, call 6312417 or 4042685 or email at pezseum@skyinet.net. The Lopez Memorial Museum is at the Ground floor, Benpres Building, Exchange Road corner Meralco Avenue, Pasig City.

Sweeping-ears

For some reason, the kids wanted a French bulldog and they were trying to convince us to get them one.  About two weeks ago, we actually went to Binondo to visit a kennel.  Thanks to Dinky, Dondi and Dino for always advicing us on almost anything… This was the one they were eyeing……

There were many other frenchies, here is another one….. 174153537503_0_bg.jpg 510163537503_0_bg.jpg

The kennel not only had french bulldogs but they had Basset Hounds ( Hush puppies) …it was my first time to see hush puppies in person and did not realize how big they were compared to the photos.  775253537503_0_bg.jpg 529033537503_0_bg.jpg

710163537503_0_bg.jpg

This is Andrew and his daughter, owner of the kennel.  It’s always interesting to meet people with different kinds of hobbies and businesses…

Owning a dog is like having another member of the family, it deserves the attention, care and love of its parents.  So, it is important that the family is ready to take on this responsibility…maybe later on 🙂 But for those that are expert pet owners, having a frenchie seems like a good idea…give Andrew or Kim a call.

CAV

By | Foodie | 8 Comments

FINALLY!!!! Heart2Heart is happy to announce that Markus Gfeller has opened a new restaurant concept….CAV.  Markus was one of the pioneers in the country for fine dining and starting the trend of hip restaurant concepts.Location is perfect because it has its own access to the street and it is away form the Serendra madness yet you are still at Fort Bonifacio.  It is peaceful and quiet and is just perfect to have a nice dining experience.  It is right across NIKE and right beside The SPA.Cav had just started offering lunch though they are still on soft opening. But everything went well and the food was just as expected…delicious and a great dining experience!  MORE POWER TO CAV and to MARKUS!

309378077503_0_bg.jpg

As you enter, the first thing you see are the wine dispensers.  What an interesting concept! Markus explained that he wants to introduce everyone to the wine experience…you do not have to be a wine connoiseur to appreciate wine.  With this concept, anyone can taste the wines by selecting the sampling portion, or get a half glass portion or a whole glass.  You can go back and forth and try the many wines in the dispensers.

Behind this high tech gadget is a wine cellar for the more serious wine drinkers.

766288077503_0_bg.jpg699378077503_0_alb.jpg

In front of the restaurant is the CAFE which is all day dining.  Wi Fi is available so you can hang out and surf while drinking a cup of coffee, having a snack or drinking different kinds of wines throughout the day.  The menu is different from the main dining. We still need to go back to try this..definitely looks YUMMY!!!!
