I am in constant search for the best tapas in our country. So far, these are the TOP 3 for me. They are all the sweet type ( filipino style ).
1.) Tapas de Gracia (cell# 0917-805-6207) – I discovered this in Salcedo market. She has a sweet and a salty version, I tried both but I prefer the sweet one. It is P 180.00 for 1/2 kilo.
2.) Sukiyaki tapa of Blue Kitchen. This was introduced to me by my Mom and it is literally sukiyaki beef made into tapa. Delicious! P 285.00 for 1/2 kilo.
3.) Shopwise Beef Tapa. James kept repeating how tender the beef was and that it was good. He is very picky and when he says he likes something, then I am happy I know what to feed him. And guess what, it is only P 43.75 for a 1/4 kilo pack.
If you have any other sources of yummy tapa, i hope you will share them with me.

It is 250 grms. for P 84.00. The best bacon for me in the Philippines is Hormel at P 110.25 for 220 grams. I did a taste test and I would not mind substituting the belly bacon. But Oscar Mayer for me is still the best bacon in the world and it is sometimes available in Rustan’s though I know that sometimes someone makes pakyaw the stocks even if it costs 3 to 4 times local brands. So i only buy it when we go to the States
……besides bacon is bad for your health!
I asked the sales staff there to give me the sweetest papaya they had and this is what she gave me. When i got home I saw the brand and recognized it. It is really so good and different from the others we have tasted. James actually reminds me to buy some more and specifically refers to this one. I am glad even fruits are BRANDED.
